In addition to our Veterans Day Celebration today in which we took the time to honor and thank all the men and women who have given in service to our country, we'd also like to share some perspectives from a few Veteran Heritage dads and a Heritage alum. Reminder - No School Tomorrow!
Today marks the end of the first trimester and tomorrow is an in-service day for our teachers so there is no school. Please pray for our teachers as they take some time to learn, collaborate, work on report cards, prepare for parent teacher conferences, and refresh for the 2nd trimester!

Picture Retakes - Tuesday, November 16
If you would like your child's picture retaken or they were absent on picture day, please have them come prepared for that on Tuesday, November 16th at 8:30am. Bring along your photo package to turn in as well.

All School Thanksgiving Lunch - next Friday!
Friday, November 19th, will be our annual All School Thanksgiving Day Lunch. Again this year we'll have an opportunity for the entire school community to come together at the same time to give thanks through worship, eating, and fellowship. We look forward to spending time acknowledging together how God has blessed us as individuals, families, and a school.
Parents and grandparents, you are encouraged to arrive at school by 11:20am to join your child(ren) in the gymnasium for chapel, beginning at 11:30am. Following chapel, we will enjoy lunch "picnic-style" on the gym floor at 12:00pm. Recess will follow outside from 12:30-1:00pm.

What Happened in Chapel This Week?
This week in Chapel, Cindy Sulwer from Grace Community Church shared with PreK-4th grade students what the Bible says about God’s Word. She reminded them that His Word is a “lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105). She reminded them that God’s Word is useful for, “teaching, rebuking, for correction, and for training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). And she reminded them that His Word is, “sharper than a double edged sword” as it penetrates our hearts (Hebrews 4:12). She reminded students that God in His infinite love for us gave us His word to help guide our thoughts and actions and encouraged them to not just be, “hearers of the Word, but doers of the Word” (James 1:22).

Parent Teacher Conferences - November 22-23
If you haven't signed up for a time for Parent Teacher Conferences for your students, please do so soon! Conferences are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 22nd and 23rd.You should have received an email with a signup genius for each of your child's teachers. If you did not receive that or you have questions regarding Parent Teacher conferences, feel free to contact Brenda Wichhart at wichhartb@hcs-nl.com or your child's teacher.

Sports Update
Basketball and cheerleading signups going on now! Please email Mr. Harshman if your child is interested in playing or cheering. All forms and fees are due by Friday, November 19.
We are excited to announce that Susan Sanchez will be our cheerleading coach this year. Susan brings a wealth of experience after cheering for 10 years and is looking forward to working with our cheerleaders! Jim and Lisa Turnbough will again be coaching our boys' teams and Tony Greazel and Thank you to all our volunteer coaches for stepping up!
