A Message from the Superintendent
As the 2022-2023 school year came to a close and our team reflected upon all we experienced together as a learning community, we let out a sigh of relief, and our hearts were full. We faced unimaginable challenges that required us to examine our personal, professional, and organizational priorities. Together, we proved that the spirit of learning, community, and perseverance can overcome any obstacle.
We are proud of the ways in which FVSD showed its commitment to student learning and continuous improvement. In addition to "best first instruction," FVSD elementary students benefited from the addition of physical education classes taught by a team of certificated P.E. teachers, counselors, behavior interventionists and increased literacy intervention support.
Our FVSD middle school students benefited from high-dose tutoring, the return of all sports tournaments, growing music and arts offerings, and expanded elective opportunities. It is our partnership in creating and maintaining a strong foundational education experience for our students that results in excellence.
Our organization continues to focus on improving all elements of Comprehensive School Safety and adding some additional practices/behaviors and other layers of safety that are critical to maintaining safe learning environments.
Finally, I would like to express my deepest gratitude and admiration for our incredible staff and FVSD families for their unwavering support of our students’ success.
Here is to a summer of rejuvenation, relaxation, and cherished memories. May the next academic year be filled with new beginnings and continued success for all members of our remarkable school district.
