FEBRUARY 15 -- NO SCHOOL, Presidents' Day

When Life Hands You Lemons . . .
WE'RE MAKING LEMONADE!
|
|
To no one's surprise, there will not be a DHHS Auction this year.
However, your PTO is dedicated to making lemonade out of the lemons we've all been handed. The GREAT News is that everyone can donate DIRECTLY to our school's Enrichment Fund and 100% of the money donated will go to fulfill teacher classroom needs and projects.
This past semester alone, the PTO has distributed over $6,000 to DHHS teachers for such classroom needs as:
- Electronic equipment for remote instruction (webcams, microphones, ring lights, media carts, etc.)
- School-wide digital tools for design and organization of class content
- Lab kits for science classes
- Subscriptions to online learning platforms and enrichment games for the Math, Science, World Languages, Social Studies, and Food Sciences Departments.
- Support for the Board Game Club's purchase of games
- Support for the School Nurse to send immunization reminder postcards to students
- Support in securing PPE and hand sanitizer for the entire school.
Your generous donations will allow the PTO to continue meeting our amazing teachers' needs and creative ideas to keep online instruction fresh and engaging for our students. We are also planning to continue supporting our school administration's preparations for a return to a safe face-to-face instructional environment, whenever that happens.
This school year, more than ever, THANK YOU for your support of our faculty and staff!

Seeking Parent Volunteers to Share Your Family's Experiences
|
|
The PTO is putting together a panel discussion around making the choice between IB, AP, and Dual Enrollment.
We're seeking parents who have seniors or HS graduates who can share their family's experiences with other parents trying to make those decisions for their current students.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, Feb. 11 via Zoom, and your students are welcome to attend too.
If interested in volunteering to speak, please email us. Thank you!
|
|
Remember! The school will have textbook & supply distribution on Wednesday, January 27 from 1:00-4:00 PM.
Individual teachers will notify students and parents if they plan to distribute textbooks & supplies to pick up on that day.

DHHS Yearbook Staff Needs Your Student's Portrait BY FEB. 5th
|
|
|
With the absence of portrait day this year, the Druid Hills Saga yearbook staff is asking each 9th, 10th, & 11th-grade student to upload their own portrait photo for use in this year’s yearbook.
They (or you) will just choose an appropriate portrait photo from their camera roll or take one on the spot and upload it through www.ybkplus.com.
|
|
Here's How…
-
Have your student go to www.ybkplus.com on their phone or you can do it on your phone.
- Once on the site, enter the _parent’s__________ email.
- A code will then be emailed to the parent to verify identity.
- Choose My Portrait, select and crop an appropriate portrait photo, then submit!
The yearbook staff reserves the right to reject any photo that does not accurately represent the student identified, does not follow proper student dress code, and/or does not meet publications standards.
Don’t delay!
We want to include every student’s portrait in the book. Due to publishing deadlines, we need all portraits uploaded to www.ybkplus.com by February 5, 2021!
Thanks for your help! We’re working hard on creating a yearbook that captures this historic school year. If you haven’t already ordered yours, you can do so at www.jostensyearbooks.com.
