It wouldn't be the start of a new school year without a little food, fun, and ice cream!
On Tuesday, student ambassadors gave new arrivals the lay of the land, lockers (and stomachs) were filled and smiles abounded.
A special thanks to Melanie Teliska ('90) of Gourmeli's Taste, Mr. Ding-A-Ling, and our AHN Food Service Professionals Frank and Maryanne Giambona for providing custom AHN cookies!

We are happy to share the good news that COVID-19 Guidelines from the State have been eased. The following are our revised protocols:
Academy of the Holy Names COVID-19 Protocols (revised 9/2022)
- We recommend students or staff exposed to COVID-19 wear a well-fitting mask or respirator for a full 10-day period and get tested at least 5 days after close contact or sooner if symptoms develop. The current guidance holds for all individuals irrespective of vaccination status or history of prior COVID-19 infection.
-
We require a student or staff member who has a positive test or is symptomatic notify the school and stay home and isolate for five days. If asymptomatic or improving on day five, the individual can return wearing a mask through day 10. If symptomatic, continue to isolate until symptoms resolve. (For more information refer to the CDC guidance: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/isolation.html)
Other CDC and NYSDOH Guidance:
- The CDC and NYSDOH continue to recommend vaccinations and the wearing of masks to mitigate the spread of COVID-19
- Changes to the most current CDC Operational Guidance include:
- Elimination of the test-to-stay policy recommendation.
- Changed recommendations to conduct screening testing to focus on high-risk activities during high COVID-19 Community Levels or in response to an outbreak.
- Removal of the recommendation to pod/cohort.
- Removal of the recommendation to quarantine, except in high-risk congregate settings.
Although masking is not a requirement, there may be members of our community who will continue to mask. We will be respectful of members of our community whether or not they decide to mask.
We continue to encourage practices that will keep our community healthy.

"Lord give our children a thirst for knowledge, wisdom and understanding. May their hearts be ready to learn this year, at home, school, and church. Open their ears, may they crave knowledge and seek it out."
We pray this in the names of Jesus and Mary. Amen.
Blessed Marie Rose, pray for us.
