BIBLE STUDY OPPORTUNITIES
Due to these uncertain times please anticipate a varied approach to the Christian Education Opportunities that are being made available at St. Matthew. Many of the Bible Studies will be held VIRTUALLY via BlueJeans or Zoom technology. If you are interested in any of these studies you may contact the Bible Study Instructor or the Church Office for the correct link to get onto the study.
Thank You.
SUNDAY MORNING ADULT BIBLE STUDY - - Classes meet on Sunday mornings @ 9:20am in Luther Hall. We will be studying The Book of Matthew.
If you would like to receive the handouts for either Bible study (or both!) email the Church Office at selimos@stmattsonline.com to get on the email list.
You can participate in these Bible studies either in-person in Luther Hall or virtually via our online Bible study program.
If you want to participate online, contact the church office for log-in information, or go to the St. Matthew Facebook page for the live stream.
TUESDAY EVENING LADIES’ BIBLE STUDY -
Bible Study meets virtually on Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm via BlueJeans. Class will start on Tuesday, January 19.
“The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 (NKJV)
In our current times, are our emotions an enemy to be defeated or a gift to be enjoyed?
Every one of us has been there—torn between conflicting emotions, crushed by grief, or totally overcome with joy. One moment we can be completely happy and the next we can be confused and sad. Are these emotions and feelings something we need to overcome, ignore, or just accept? Wouldn’t life be easier without all the tumultuous feelings we experience?
Throughout Scripture, we see God display many emotions—joy, anger, jealousy, grief. Could it be that we’re emotional beings because we have been made in the image of an emotional God?
Through this study, you will explore twelve Bible passages and characters that expressed raw emotion. You will feel more empowered to handle negative emotions in a healthy way, and you will have a deeper appreciation for emotions in general. You will have confidence that your emotions are not only good, but godly.
