REDEVELOPMENT ACADEMY UPDATES
Calling all redevelopment professionals! Registration for core and elective courses is now open for the 2022 FRA Academy.

The FRA Redevelopment Academy is a unique educational program that offers prerequisite courses to promote knowledge and professionalism in the field of community redevelopment.

The goals of the Redevelopment Academy are:

  • To educate on the benefits of and need for economic redevelopment
  • To provide an industry standard for professional redevelopers in the state of Florida
  • To provide a service and benefit to the FRA membership while promoting the services offered by the association
  • To provide practical, practitioner-based education of consistently high quality

The program is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about redevelopment practice in Florida. Applicants are able to register online by submitting the registration information and payment.

2021 FRA AWARDS SPOTLIGHT:
TRANSPORTATION TRANSIT ENHANCEMENT
Congratulations to the City of Orlando for winning the 2021 Transportation Transit Enhancement Award for a large community!

The Zero Emission Electric LYMMO bus project is Orlando’s first investment toward achieving the city’s ambitious transportation sustainability goal of transitioning LYMMO, Orlando’s downtown fare-free circulator, to a 100% zero-emissions fleet by 2022.

Funded with $4,801,244 of Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grant monies, these cleaner and quieter buses have a sleek design, improve air quality and provide an overall smoother ride experience.

The City of Cocoa is seeking to hire a Grants Writer-Economic Development Specialist.

Under the supervision of the deputy finance director and the economic development manager, the grants writer-economic development specialist will perform administrative grants work including preparing, writing and submitting proposals and grant applications, researching, identifying and developing grant opportunities for the City of Cocoa.

The City of Sebastian is seeking to hire an Airport Manager.

The airport manager is responsible for performing professional and administrative work, supervising, managing and coordinating the operation and maintenance of the Municipal Airport. These functions will include: budgeting, grants, purchasing, payments, inventory and accounts.
