Dear SACC Texas friends,
For those of you whom I have not had the privilege to meet yet, my name is Adam Mioen Dahlstrom. Starting this year, I have taken over as the new Chair for our Austin chapter from Henrik Johansson, who will continue contributing significantly to SACC Austin by being a trusted board member and Treasurer.
I grew up in Stockholm before moving to Houston with my family while in grade school. A two-year ex-pat plan turned into permanent residency, which I know many of you can relate to. Professionally, I work as a financial advisor within personal wealth management for 49 Financial, with headquarters in Austin (and offices in Dallas and Houston), where I have lived for the past couple of years. Here in Austin, we are proliferating and look forward to returning to our pre-covid level of fun and insightful events. For those of you that attended the annual meeting a few weeks ago, you got to see our new board, who are all as motivated as I am to grow SACC in Austin and San Antonio. We would love to see many new Swedes representing exciting companies in Austin joining the organization.
With many of our members traveling to Sweden throughout June and July, we will have events in August. However, we have several events planned for the fall, and we hope to see you all! More information to come over the coming weeks. For Texas as a whole, Dallas and Houston are coming off from a busy spring with several events ranging from smaller talks to large-scale events with people attending from all over the world.
We are also excited to welcome Einride as an enterprise member (with the help of André Persson), who is at the forefront of the EV and Self-Driving Transportation industry and will start operations here in Texas later this year. This is another example of an industry-leading company expanding into this booming part of the world called Texas. I look forward to participating in this boom and hope to see you soon at an event in Austin or Texas.
With that, I wish all of you a wonderful summer!
Best regards,
Adam Mioen Dahlstrom, Chairman and President SACC Austin
