"Dear Jan, Thank you so much for your prayers and support! They mean so much to our family and ministry. We are at a crossroads in our ministry as the war rages on. We want to use the money God gives wisely and effectively to reach as many as we can for the Lord.
Mukachevo is receiving anywhere from 700 to 1000 refugees daily (Abigail's best friend's mother works at the city hall where they are processed). We have been feeding many with a Gospel message afterwards. Spiritual literature and church info where they are headed in the EU is offered.
As the city becomes more overloaded, there is a greater need for temporary housing. We would like to go ahead and set that up on the second floor. We will start with 30 cots with bedding. We will also need to convert a room into shower facilities and add an extra washing machine and dryer to make this feasible. Our cook will also need a helper to make 3 meals a day as well as feeding our at-risk kids daily.
We see this as a necessary step to minister to Ukrainians at this time. We are looking at about 8 to 10k to get this up and functioning. The people will stay for 2 days per city order, and we will help them move on to the EU.
Oleg has been supplying satellite phones and GPS equipment to brothers in Kyiv who are rescuing women and children in the zones with no cell/internet service. Many of these will then be sent to our church for rest before they move on. Everything we do is underscored with a Gospel message. We have clothing and extra food available
With all the bombings, Ukraine will soon be in great need of quality prosthetics. So many children and soldiers have lost limbs!
The idea of turning our building into a dispensary with a doctor present would be a wonderful service! It would go a long way in opening the door for our people to be willing to listen to a Gospel message! Thank you for your prayers, support, advise, and encouragement! Sincerely, Lori for all the Enskyys"
Lori further wrote, "We went to IKEA today and picked everything out. We are waiting on transportation options. IKEA will take it all to the border for 100$ but we are having a hard time finding someone who can come over the border to get it, so I might end up having to drive it there myself. When it gets loaded, I will send pictures. Oleg will also send pictures of the showers being installed."
ORH is working feverishly to help Oleg and Lori, contacting Lori almost daily. Lori has bought foam bedding rather than cots to save money, making it possible to sleep 50 rather than 30 refugees. Instead of $7500.00 (USD) for bedding, the cost, even with sheets and other needs, dropped to $3500.00 (USD). ORH is sending $6000.00 to help with this cost. Due to the cold weather, the remainder of the funds will go toward utility costs.
Pray ORH will have the necessary funds to continue helping. Pray we will be able to open the medical dispensary in the church. The souls and lives of the multitudes literally hang in the balance of true New Testament Church ministry.
