At last month's Board of Supervisors meeting, County Administrator Dr. Joe Casey and Intergovernmental Relations Administrator Andrea Peeks recognized the work of the General Services Building and Grounds team for their diligent work during the 2020 election season.

One of many departments that stepped up to help the Office of the Registrar, the Building and Grounds team was vital in ensuring Chesterfield voters were able to express their constitutional rights during this high-profile election.
During the 2020 election, a group of Building and Grounds team members were available 24/7 to assist the Office of the Registrar by performing wide-ranging tasks. During the early voting period, for example, the team set up social distancing and directional signage at satellite voting centers while providing logistical support for shuttle services to and from the North Courthouse Road and Ettrick-Matoaca libraries. They also helped manage the social distancing of heavy resident traffic at the Office of the Registrar by providing floor mats, sneeze guards and setting up walkway tents.
As Election Day neared, the Building and Grounds team remained active, transporting voting equipment to polling places and continuing to provide logistical support. And, on Election Day itself, team members worked from dawn to dusk ensuring polling locations were fully prepared to receive voters, including by assembling an accessibility ramp at 3:45 a.m.

Meet Tobias!
This ball of energy is Tobias! He is very playful and he loves to run around and play. Tobias has a lot of energy that will need to be burned off outside. He loves to be outside, especially when he has other dog friends to play with. If you like to go to dog parks, then Tobias is the dog for you!
Tobias loves making new friends; however, he does like to jump, so he would do well in a home without a dominant dog. Because of his high energy, Tobias cannot go home with children under the age of 15 years.
He just doesn't know his size and loves to overwhelm you with hugs and kisses! Tobias is very good at walking on the leash and once he calms down he loves to give kisses.
