Washtenaw County Low
COVID-19 Community Level
As of March 11, 2022, Washtenaw County is considered at a “low” COVID-19 community level. At this level, masking in indoor public settings is no longer broadly recommended according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). At all levels, people can wear a mask based on preference or increased risk for themselves or others. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask. Snack Ideas
from the desk of Bethany Williston, M.S., Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Kids can only eat so many bags of goldfish, cheese sticks, granola bars, and fruit snacks. For something different, try making fruit leather. You might enjoy it, too.

Bakeware: blender, cookie sheet with edges, parchment paper

Ingredients:
3 cups Strawberries - fresh or frozen (thaw the frozen berries before starting)
1 Tbsp Lemon juice
2 Tbsp honey or sugar

Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 150 degrees
  2. Line the cookie sheet with parchment paper
  3. Blend all three ingredients until smooth
  4. Pour the puree onto the cookie sheet and spread it out by tipping the sheet. You can also use a spatula to make it even
  5. Bake for 6 - 8 hours. You don't want the leather to stick to your finger when you touch it. If it's still sticky, bake longer.
  6. Remove parchment paper and fruit.
  7. Using a pizza cutter, cut into long strips and roll up.
  8. Enjoy!

Tri-Level League

The tri-level league is a newer league that continues to gain in popularity! Tri-Level League is a USTA format designed to provide a unique team opportunity to members by combining players of different NTRP levels on the same team. Liberty players had the opportunity to participate in this league this winter, with teams captained by Jose Briceno, Vivian Marley, Kusull Kim and Jessica Haessler.

Kusull and Jessica’s teams faced each other 3 times this season, with a doubles team competing at the 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 level. They may have been fierce competitors on the court, but enjoyed each other’s company in a celebration together at their last match!

Players enjoy getting to know players at different levels in this new competitive format. Tri-Level will be back for a short 3 week season in August!
