Well, here we are rolling into the last day at FGS for 2021. We are officially closing the doors December 23rd for a long, overdue winter's nap. We will be back in full swing January 3rd with the Garden Center opening Tuesday, January 4th. If you hear a rumbling from the distance, it's all of us racing out the door with joy, joy and more joy. Y'all. It's been another long year.
In case you have not driven by FGS at night, this happened. Yes, that is correct. This is not a stock image. This is O'Kelly Chapel, the historic church on the corner of O'Kelly Chapel Road and Hwy 751. It's a Christmas miracle! But for real.
This is a labor of love. When Scott and I were approached with the opportunity to purchase the church and land it sat on, my "vision" psycho side went full tilt! It has been sitting and patiently waiting for "a time such as this."
I won't bore you with all the renovation details just yet. I will save this for 2022. But I will tell you the ideas and vision I have are slowly coming to fruition. Scott has worked tirelessly behind the scenes as we still have some navigating to do with the state and county. We truly hope to have these details worked out so we can add this space at FGS.
After 50+ years of this gem sitting dark, we hope this holiday season you find a light of peace, hope and love to warm your heart. Someone said to me that it looks like it should be part of her Christmas village on her table. I couldn't agree more.
For all there is to anticipate and hope for in 2022, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We are grateful for the small part we may have played in your world in 2021 and we wouldn't have wanted to do any of this without you. Blessings to you and yours.
