Volume 31 No. 2 | February 2021

Beloveds,
I’ve crossed this country many times. The first two or three times was in a car seat in our old Ford. Later, my sister and I drove her car with a UHaul trailer behind it. I don’t even know how many times I’ve flown between California and Rhode Island or New Hampshire. My trips were, for the most part, comfortable. I didn’t have to walk or ride a horse or in a wagon. Funny how there are so many ways to get from where we are to where we want to be.
Our theme this month is One Journey, Many Paths. The path to God is going to be different for each of us. Pro tip: no matter what path you are one, it will go faster if you pay attention to where your own feet are taking you and don’t stop to criticize someone else’s walk. I can share what I have explored and what short cuts I have found on my own path. I can also share my map – okay, cell phone with navigation system. There’s lots of ways we can make this journey more fun and safer for everyone. What no minister can do is walk your path for you or know exactly what path will be best for you. Whatever you choose, I can only trust that Spirit is guiding your steps.
The biggest and most important thing to know is what Holmes says in What the Mystics Taught. He writes that our journey is always one of self-discovery, that all of us are going to the same place and that all of us will eventually take this journey and make it home to ourselves. Even if you aren’t the type to read the last chapter of a book first, you can rest assured that this story ends well. We all recognize our Christhood in the end.

Hello and Blessings to all.
At our just completed January Board meeting, your Board elected officers for this coming year. I would like to introduce them to you and thank them for volunteering to be an officer. Our Secretary this year is Chris Hofer, our Treasurer is Nina Rochette, Kyra Molitor is our Vice President, and I, Tom Kimmerle am President.
This year and starting last year we have expanded the rolls of the officers, because I wanted less to do in certain areas. Kyra, last year and continuing this year, will run our Board meeting and this year Chris will be more active in getting the minutes to Kyra and recording the old and new business for the up coming meetings. So, along with Tess Barnes, Jim Holmes, and of course our wonderful Reverend Kathleen we will be creating a better Center, better grounds and guard our finances.
Speaking of better grounds, now that our parking lot is completed for now, we would like to relocate and create our Labyrinth. We would like to have a small group get together and locate and design our new Labyrinth. I marked a potential area and had Jonny’s Landscape give me a estimate to prepare the grounds for our Labyrinth. That includes leveling the ground, putting in drains, putting down a weed barrier, and topping the area with 3 inches of DG. The area I chose is mostly on the graded area of our new property and extending toward the back side of our existing building. The drains will drain into to existing canal. We will add trees and benches where appropriate. The estimate for this project is $13,000. It would be nice to see people volunteer to be on the Labyrinth committee, be willing to move rocks and bring rocks once the ground is prepared, and to donate time and money to your Labyrinth. We will create a beautiful, serene area for you to pray, mediate or use as you see fit. Please contact me if you are interested in this project and you can send your donations with your normal tithing, just mark it Labyrinth.
On another note, anyone with experience giving IM (intramuscular) injections may be able to get a vaccination by volunteering at the vaccination clinic running now through Feb. 20th at the Findlay Toyota Center in Prescott valley. There are still positions available for qualified volunteers and volunteers will be eligible to receive a vaccination at the end of their shifts (as supplies allow). If you are interested, the link is https://signup.com/client/invitation2/secure/34526496804/true#/invitation Also at the old sears building they are doing vaccines, and Thumb Butte Medical is doing vaccines for those who quality. At all of these facilities, please call or go online to check status and make an appointment.
Have a Great Day, and stay safe.
Blessing to you all,
Tom Kimmerle (Board President)

LOVE SPOKEN HERE
Mel Hirsch, RScP

This February, this ‘Month of Love’ – some have stated, “What does that mean? Give me a short, simple path to understand and express Love”. Most of us have seen weddings containing the 1st Corinthians quote; “Love is Patient, Love is Kind” – and 13 other attributes. If anyone reading this is adept at all 13, I probably would be uncomfortable in their presence.
Let us dive into the words. Patience – from the Greek: state of remaining tranquil while awaiting an outcome, steadfastness, forbearance in the face of displeasure. True patience is not just waiting calmly in line – it is waiting calmly when people are out-of-line.
Kind/Kindness – to be loving, merciful or empathetic towards another. True kindness is adopting a merciful attitude toward someone who wronged us – a tall order at times, demonstrated inside our community again and again, its evolution described from the platform as “I had to start by simply allowing “them” safe passage through my mind”. That is kindness inspired by acquired wisdom.
As this column unfolds, I am realizing that patience and kindness do not rise to the level of love without both in play. Highest expressions of love call for experiencing displeasure, then responding with kindness, part of the Love spoken here. I sometimes wonder how I am doing.
To paraphrase Community Spiritual Leader, Dr. Edward Viljoen, one strong message from our teaching is “that each of us must find our own relationship” with Love, empowering us to live, think and create through it. [You can see Dr. Edward’s simply profound/profoundly simple 1-page writing in December’s Science of Mind Magazine Daily Guides Pg. 45. I just pasted it to my wall. If you want but cannot find it, contact me for a copy – sent free with love.]

GET SUPPORT FROM THE HEART CONNECTION
|
During this strange time in which so many people are feeling stress, the Heart Connection continues to connect with those in our CSLP family. We are sending cards, writing emails, and making telephone calls. There have been car parades in Prescott Valley and Prescott with CSLP members parading by sequestered folks' homes, honking their horns, waving, yelling hello, and having encouraging, loving signs on their cars. This certainly brightened the day for those recipients! We are encouraging people to reach out to our wonderful Practitioners and to call us in the Heart Connection for any needs. We are keeping our CSLP family in our prayers and are all looking forward to the day when our Center opens again. Love and Blessings to all!

FEBRUARY THEME
Theme for February: One Journey, Many Paths
“Life flows into everything, through everything; it passes into every human event and translates itself through every human act. If you learn to think of Life as flowing through your every action, you will soon discover that the things you give your attention to are quickened with new energy…”

The month of December 2020 continued to present challenges to the Visitation team. During the month, due to social distancing, closing of Retirement homes, and hospitals to visitors, the team relied on telephone calls to make visits. During the month of December 2020, 10 team members reported visiting 35 separate individuals, 71 visits were reported. One (1) team member reported making a food drop, and a picnic lunch to one (1) individual. During the month the team members attempted to contact everyone on the Center's Membership List. The team will continue checking in with the members monthly or at least until we are able to re-open the center. In addition, the team reported participating in Three (3) Virtual Prayers Circles for individuals undergoing medical procedures.
Would you like a visit, telephone visit, telephone call, Prayer Circle or Virtual Prayer Circle by the Visitation Team for yourself or another? A Virtual Prayer Circle is performed when it is impractical to be at the hospital. A Virtual Prayer Circle is where each member goes into prayer at a designated time, wherever they are, for an individual undergoing a medical procedure. If this is for you, please contact the Pastoral Care Coordinator, David Sharer RScP at (928) 771 2791. The team loves to serve by making visits and praying with you.
Love & Light,
David Sharer, RScP

ERNEST HOLMES QUOTES
"You exist that Divine feeling, fire, imagination and creativity may be expressed through you. The Spirit comes to you with a new and fresh creativity. … Be yourself and express life as you find it. Never imitate. Trust the self. Find the self in God and God in the self."
