Mailboxes Set on Fire in Convis Township

On Sunday, Sept. 4 at approximately 4 a.m., the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office began fielding several complaints from citizens of Convis Township in Calhoun County for complaints of damaged mailboxes. These callers advised that their mailboxes were damaged or destroyed after being set on fire.


The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division and Traffic Safety Units are conducting extra patrol in the township and surrounding areas. The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau has also contacted the United States Postal Inspection Service for assistance in the investigation. 


We ask the citizens in the area to report any suspicious vehicles or subjects due to the recent damage to personal property.
