All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.
2 Timothy 3:16
Welcome to 2022 everyone! And welcome to another year of the Daily Moment With God. Did you know that the first "DMG" reflection appeared in March 2020? Just as the church building closed due to Corona virus.
Since then we have published over 450 reflections, written by scores of authors. People have shared personal stories, theological expositions, and, thanks to Peter Crisafulli, musical performances.
The common thread that ties it all together? Scripture. Every Daily Moment is tied directly to the Word. The passages are not chosen ahead of time, rather the individual authors select a Bible verse that is on their hearts. This was particularly interesting when, some months back, multiple authors selected the same passage: "Be still and know that I am God" from Psalm 46:10.
The Word of God - that is, The Bible - is truly "living and active" (Hebrews 4:12). A person can read the same passage for years, and God can still speak something new and fresh.
Reflecting on the Scriptures is a powerful exercise. Putting pen to paper (or typed words to a screen) has the effect of our opening our minds in new ways to understand the Bible. Connections are made; memories are stirred; hopes are re-kindled. As I edit the Daily Moment, I am constantly struck by the insights of the authors, as I think, "I have never thought of that before."
Thank YOU for reading the DMG. And thank you to our wonderful authors. And... now here's the pitch: would you consider writing a reflection? We are always in need of new writers. Trust me, your words will be a blessing to many.
God bless you!
