Mission:
United by faith and service,
St. Anthony of Padua School community forms knowledgeable students who are moral and courageous Catholic leaders.
From Mrs. Pudelko:

  • We are hopeful to be able to move forward with the option for Summer Childcare beginning this summer! IF you are interested in Summer Child Care, please complete this survey prior to March 15 to help us to plan appropriately.

  • Beginning next week, our 6th grade students will be selling Marian Medium Roast Coffee (mariancoffee.com) for $10 per pound bag. Not only does this support our programming, but through Marian Coffee’s ethical trade practices and responsible sourcing, you will also be providing a steady income for some 80 indigenous Catholic families in the jungle mountains of Mexico as they struggle against poverty and the temptations of the drug trade. Countryside Greenhouse Gift Cards ($25 and $50) will also be sold. Both of these fundraisers will help support camp. If you are interested in purchasing either of these items, please contact the school office to place an order. Your support is greatly appreciated!

  • Please complete your registration packet for 21-22 as soon as possible. Financial aid letters will be emailed no later than March 10. You may see a full tuition balance entered into Smart Tuition. Smart Tuition will be adjusted when all financial aid is awarded. REMINDER: Beginning April 1st, a registration fee of $200 will be charged.

  • We continue to offer our referral scholarship again this year. If you have friends or family who may be interested, please pass along the information. I would love to share more about our programming. The Diocese of Grand Rapids announced that they will also be offering Welcome Scholarships for new families with children in preschool and kindergarten. Check out the details here.

  • March is Reading Month: Please see the following link for our Week 2 of 'A Boy Called Bat'

  • Don't forget to send in your favorite family recipes! Home and School is collecting recipes from St. Anthony families to create a cookbook. Please submit 3-4 of your favorite recipes by March 12, 2021. See flyers for more details:

  • GoGuardian has been very effective in ensuring students are viewing appropriate content while at school and on devices. We are so thankful to be able to have this safeguard in place! Protect Young Eyes just released information for parental controls that can be put in place on YouTube. I encourage parents to check out this blog post and subscribe to regular updates from Protect Young Eyes.

Why do we eat Snacks?

Why do we eat snacks? Are snacks healthy? It is a tricky
question, because it really depends on the type of snack
you eat. Some snacks are very healthy, while other snacks do not help our bodies as much. Snacks should be:
  • Simple
  • Nutritious
  • Affordable & Available
  • Colorful
  • Kid Friendly

Health snacks give us energy between meals. Sometimes
the time between meals can be long, so snacks keep us
from getting hungry and tired. If we eat healthy snacks,
our bodies will stay satisfied until the next meal and will
keep us from eating too much at meal time. Foods that we
learned about from MyPlate food groups can make great
anytime snacks. Click on the video to learn more!

Discussion Questions:
1. Why does our body need snacks?
2. What words describe the acronym S-N-A-C-K?
3. When is the best time to have a snack?

A couple active challenges for the upcoming month -
return to school completed for a special prize!!
