LWV Kent Board unveils new focus on passage of Ohio redistricting amendment at Aug. 7 All Member Meeting

Amid all the summer fun, it can be easy to forget that 2024 is looming on the horizon. The Board of Directors of the League of Women Voters of Kent, led by new president Sherry Rose and vice presidents Janice Hutchison and Jackie Peck, has an eye on the road ahead and is charting a different path forward for our League over the next two years. LWV Kent officers will share new strategic ideas at the All Member Meeting, Monday, Aug. 7, 7 p.m., at Kent Social Services, 1066 S. Water St., Kent. The valuable resources of member time and talent will be needed as we work to pass a constitutional amendment in November 2024 to right the wrongs of Ohio's current redistricting legislation.

THIS WILL BE A WORKING ALL MEMBER MEETING! We need all hands on deck to provide input and suggestions. Our League’s various positions will remain in force and be used as needed for advocacy on local issues. MAP

Can you help place these signs? Election protection hotline aims to ensure every eligible Ohio voter who wants to vote can vote

We’re still looking for good homes for the remainder of our ELECTION PROTECTION yard signs. About 15 signs are left, and we would like to place them at or near the polling locations on election day.

If you are a poll worker or live near a polling place and can place a sign the evening of Aug. 7 or early morning Aug. 8 and remove it after 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 8, please call or text Stacy at 330-697-5723 to let her know that you can do so.

Click here for a list of polling locations in Kent. For polling locations elsewhere in Portage County, click here and then enter the search information requested. Signs can be picked up at the All Member Meeting on Aug. 7 or at Stacy’s house. If needed, Stacy can deliver the signs to you.
