It is a joy to have students back in the building and to have our virtual learners back on Microsoft Teams after our unexpected break. Even though we missed all that time, we will not have to make up those days and the end of the 4th cycle is still Friday, March 12th. I know we just had a materials pick up for our virtual students, but to ensure students are prepared for the beginning of the 5th cycle, we will have another distribution next Wednesday, March 10th, from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. If you are not able to pick up the materials during that window, your child’s bag will be in the main office.
Governor Abbott announced that Texas will lift its mask mandate and other COVID safety procedures, beginning next Wednesday, March 10th. Shortly after his announcement, HISD communicated that schools will continue to follow the procedures and guidelines set by HISD’s Communicable Disease Plan. The safety policies that we have in place at WUES will remain as the health of our students and staff continue to be our main priority. Thank you for continuing to wear your mask, social distancing, and your continued efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 to keep our school community safe.
All the best,
Scott C. Disch
Principal
