We've launched a free texting platform called Perry Points!

Using text messaging, you can quickly get answers to their questions, find information on various City services, send a message to staff, and sign up for text message notifications. 

To start a conversation with Perry Points, text “hello” to (888) 49-PERRY (73779).

Perry Points immediately responds with a short greeting explaining the ways users can use the service and the link to sign up for text message notifications.
Accepting Applications for Perry University Class of 2022
Looking at local government from a whole new level!

We're now accepting applications for Perry University Class of 2022. This free class series is an exciting opportunity for Perry residents and business owners to learn more about local government and how to be an active and engaged community member.

We take government seriously but we also like to have fun! This program is filled with interactive sessions that will leave you feeling energized and informed about your local government.

Application deadline is February 14.
A Fun Way To Arrive At School!
Perry Fire & Emergency Services had a ton of fun escorting Ella Cannon, the winner of our 2021 Fire Safety Poster Contest, and her family to The Westfield School as part of her prize package for winning the contest!

Each year Perry Fire & Emergency Services invites all 3rd-grade students in the Perry area to submit their artwork in the fire safety poster contest.

Congrats Ella and thanks for helping us make fire safety fun!
Westfield Students Learn About Local Government
The Westfield School 3rd graders visited City Hall today to learn about government and had a few special surprises along the way!

The students learned about Perry's government.

They also met Perry Police Department K9 Officer Bryant and Officer Quinones who brought K9s Maddie and Luna for a visit.

They ended their visit with a tour of Perry Fire Headquarters and a pizza party with Fire Pup!

Councilman King Named Mayor Pro-Tempore for 2022
Congratulations to Councilmember Willie King!

Perry Council unanimously approved Mr. King as Mayor Pro-Tempore for 2022.

The Mayor Pro-Tempore is voted on by council every year to assume the duties and powers of the mayor in the instance of the current mayor's disability or absence.

Mr. King was elected to council in 2008 and remains an active member.

Let's Go is a semi-annual publication that takes a deeper look into Perry events and offers some tips and tricks to make the most out of your time in Perry!

Fun Fact: The majority of Perry's special events are funded through local hotel and motel taxes.
Spring Cleanup Coming in April
Public Works' annual Spring Cleanup is scheduled for April 4-8!

This is the week special bulk items are picked up at no charge. Tires (max of 4), appliances, and household items are permitted to be picked up.

For more information, including a list of prohibited items, are listed on the City's website.

Perry residents can make a major impact with a small gesture.

No gift is too small to make a difference for low-income families and fixed-income seniors to stay warm this winter.
