What a great time we had at the end of Vietnam War Commemoration! It was great to see not only members of the battery but some very welcome participants from 12th Field Regiment.

On the evening of the 17 August we enjoyed dinner at the Mercure Hotel which is close to both the Australian War Memorial and the Vietnam Memorial.

Forty two of us enjoyed a two course dinner and the odd liquid refreshment.

The evening was topped off by a Rick Cranna auction performance. Two quilts were auctioned raising $400 for the Royal Australian Artillery Historical Company Charity organisation.

Before the dinner recce party checked out the site of the commemoration to be held on Friday 18 August. It was clear that a large audience was expected.

On Saturday following the Commemoration, we were invited to Stephen and Jane Beer's rural retreat for a memorable lunch. Grateful thanks to the Beers for a fantastic afternoon! The photo below shows Chez Beer with homemade cannon.
