December 2020

It has certainly been the kind of year no one could have predicted. Every family, organization and community has been impacted in some way, leaving a lot to be desired from 2020. The HRA team is no exception and shares in that collective sentiment that we're all "over it". But in taking full stock of the year, we do take pride in having learned to adapt and evolve business processes, pushed through the unknowns with courage and fortitude, and simply focused on what we do best in order to show up for our clients when they needed us most.

During the holiday season, we all look forward to coming together in special ways with co-workers, clients, friends and families to count our blessings, show appreciation for one another and celebrate a year and job well done. The way we celebrate might look different, but the reasons for the season are more meaningful than ever.

No matter how you plan to go about the holidays, we are wishing you a season of hope, peace, joy and love---all things that can withstand the test of time and hardship that 2020 has brought in such unprecedented ways.

From each and every one of us at HR Advantage, blessings and happy holidays to you and yours.

Stay Well,

The HRA Team

IRS Form 941 to Include
COVID-19 Related Tax Credits

The FFCRA and CARES Act provides tax credits to cover business expenses         related to COVID-19, including emergency paid sick leave and expanded            family and medical leave, from April 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020.
Tax credits can be claimed on revised Form 941, Employer's Quarterly Federal    Tax Return. For more information, contact your tax advisor or visit irs.gov.

CDC Reduces Quarantine Time
for COVID-19 Exposures

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has revised its guidelines for people who may have been exposed to the novel coronavirus. People-excluding people who have had COVID-19 within the past 3 months--who have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 are advised to quarantine.

Previously the CDC recommended a 14-day quarantine for those potentially exposed.

Now, exposure warrants a quarantine of 10 or seven days, depending on one's test results and symptoms.  If individuals do not develop symptoms, they need only quarantine for 10 days; if they test negative, that period can be reduced to just 7 days.

Employers who choose to adopt this change should update COVID-19 related leave and return to work forms and policies.
