Bay Area Health Officers’ Statement
About COVID-19 Vaccines
"As local health officers, we fully support all three currently available vaccines for COVID-19.

All three vaccines are safe and have been shown to be highly effective at preventing symptomatic illness and hospitalization. The clinical trials for all three vaccines demonstrated that they were 100 percent effective in preventing deaths from COVID-19.

There is also growing evidence that all three vaccines help prevent asymptomatic illness, too. This means that people who have been vaccinated are not likely to spread COVID-19 to others who are not vaccinated."

San Mateo County Vaccination Eligibility Updates
Beginning yesterday, March 15th, the state of California has expanded vaccine eligibility to include those 16-64 with specific pre-existing medical conditions, and broadened eligibility to essential workers in transportation, logistics, and emergency services.

For more information regarding who is now eligible, please visit this link.

We encourage you to connect with your healthcare provider, employer, and/or pharmacy to understand the vaccination options available to you. Please visit San Mateo County Health's COVID-19 Vaccine website for the most up-to-date information.

Rotary Club of Menlo Park
Sponsor a Scholar Program
"For over 20 years, the Rotary Club of Menlo Park has offered need-based scholarships. We have a rigorous review process and currently give to around 15 students annually a 4-year college scholarship. But that is limited due to our available financial resources. In addition, we dedicate some $50,000 to local charities. We normally receive applications from some 40+ high school graduates, all deserving students. Through this new Sponsor a Scholar program we expect to extend the reach of our program.

We currently have 60 active scholarships. We help alleviate the financial hardship of low-income families into meeting the high cost of a college education. We recognize that most of our applicants will have come from families who have not attended college. Our program provides a dedicated Rotary Club volunteer to mentor every student. Through our worldwide Rotary connections, we are able to assist the students in starting their careers."
