Message from the Principal
Dear DHS Staff, Students, and Families,

Thank you to every staff member, student, and parent/guardian who made the start of hybrid learning possible. We are off to a great start!

Most importantly, I want to express my gratitude to our students and staff as they prioritize health and safety while at home and school. The 3 W's can make a big difference in controlling COVID-19: Wear a mask, Wash your hands, Watch your distance. Thank you for protecting yourself and others so that we can continue to provide the option of both in-person and remote learning.

Next week, we will add another element to our health and safety protocol with the incorporation of COVID testing for all students who are on-campus for hybrid learning and/or extracurricular activities. Each student (attending class in-person and/or extracurricular activities) family will receive an email with details about COVID SHIELD testing including testing times.

Tomorrow (Friday, February 26), in-preparation for COVID testing, students will be required to go to the COVID-19 testing center (DHS Library) at their assigned Friday testing time for their cohort using the Week 1 schedule. Passport Health (PPH) will provide a brief training to all students explaining how testing will work. At the training, the student will receive the QR code that they will be required to bring to all future COVID tests. Students may take a photo of the physical QR code and store it on their phone for future use.

I hope you have an enjoyable weekend!

Sincerely,
Principal Kathryn Anderson
Happening Next Week
Week of Monday, March 1 - Friday, March 5

Tuesday - Friday: Group A (designated as red) will attend PM classes and Group B (designated as gray) will attend AM classes.
Counseling
Counseling Center Visit - Virtual and In-Person
Our counseling staff members are available to meet with students both virtually and in-person. Students can setup a specific time to meet with a counseling staff member, either virtually or in-person, by making an appointment.

To meet with their counselor, students should go to their counselor’s class on Schoology and select a date/time on the online calendar (Calendly). Students attending in-person classes may also stop by the counseling center to see if their counselor is available or to receive assistance in making a future appointment.
