Session News
  • Session approved the hiring of Ashley Griffin-Bennet as part-time bookkeeper.
  • Session elected Elders Mike Groves and Dudley Payton to serve on the 2021 Nominating Committee.
  • Session approved donating $3,500 to the Affordable Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses for Mr. Rodney Johnson as requested by Rev. Day.
  • Session approved changing the 2021 Communion Schedule. There will be no communion on Sunday, March 28, 2021 (Palm Sunday). There will be no worship service with communion on Thursday, April 1, 2021 (Maundy Thursday).


Committee Reports

Christian Education & Congregational Care
  • Homebound members continue to be contacted by mail, email or phone on a regular basis.
  • Telephone calls to homebound and/or members who miss two consecutive Sundays are made as needed.
  • A 2021 Lenten Study has been downloaded from The Presbyterian Outlook, printed and distributed. The study will also be shared through e-Connections and posted on our website. 
  • Our website will be reviewed and updated as necessary.











Committee Reports (cont.)

Evangelism/Membership
  • The average attendance for January was 20. There were 5 visitors in January – three were repeat visitors and two were new. Three notes were sent, and two brochures were provided to visitors.

Finance
  • For the month of January, income of $5,768.11 exceeded expenses of $4,352.98 by $1,415.13.

Missions
  • Food donations were taken to St. John U.M.C. Shepherd’s Market on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.
  • The One Great Hour of Sharing Offering will be received on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021. A Minute for Mission will be given on Sunday, March 28, 2021.

Property
  • At the current time heat for the Great Hall is being provided by two space heaters designed for continual use.

Worship Committee
  • Jan. 14 – palms for Palm Sunday were ordered.
  • Jan. 16 – the piano in the Sanctuary was tuned by Joe Rush
  • Rev. Jeff Day gave the following sermons:
