Matt and I want to sincerely thank you all. We are humbled by the support and love we have received from everyone after the arrival of beautiful Zyera. For those of you who don't know, we were licensed to foster children on August 31, on September 2 we received the call that a 13 month old was in need of a home. While our goal is adoption, we are following the path God has set in front of us. On September 2, we welcomed Zyera into our home with nothing but a bottle, blanket, and a stuffie; and wearing clothes that didn't fit her. We made a trip to Walmart to get us through the weekend... and the church showed up. We received anything and everything we could possibly need for this sweet baby girl. We received dinners to help us adjust to parenting. A baby shower was held for our beautiful girl where she received some of the most special gifts ever! Her fur brothers thank anyone who bought Zyera toys...hopefully she will leave theirs alone now.
Matt and I do not like being the center of attention, we are background kind of people, but boy do we ever feel loved. With our families up north, we did not expect this much support, so we cannot thank you all enough. We were blessed with Miss Zyera, and with an amazing church family. My devotional scripture reading was John 15:12, which states "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you." I have seen this in action over the last 2 week, it is incredible to witness first hand.
With much gratitude and thanks,
Becca, Matt and Zyera

New Life Church stickers have been added to all the church library collection. Thank you to Gail for printing these up for us. And a Big thank you to all library volunteers!
Our next library project will be creating a catalogue of all our titles. Please see the new black binder located on top of the library check in/out cabinet. For those looking for a particular book or author, you can browse through these pages as well as on our shelves. We will be adding and revising this catalogue in the coming weeks. It is a work in progress.
Thank you Lynda Platt for sharing your gorgeous framed photos for display in our library.
A donated item recently added to our collection is Max Lucado's "Anxious for Nothing: a study guide."

Halloween Outreach - October 31, 2022
|
|
NEW LIFE FAMILY... We need YOUR help to make this year's Trunk or Treat a big success! We are in need of Candy Donations to help serve Punta Gorda and surrounding communities. You can bring candy to Lenox Hall and leave it in the designated bin. Please make sure the candy you donate is individually wrapped. Your donations will be a big help in making this event successful!
We are anticipating a large number of children and we want to make sure we have enough candy to share with all of our Trunk-or-Treaters!! So please help us make this event a ‘fun’tastic Halloween celebration for our children.
|
|
NEW LIFE FAMILY... In order to make this year's Trunk or Treat FUN and SAFE, we need YOUR help! Extra hands are always helpful! We will need help with set up, tear down, parking attendants, popcorn poppers, candy runners, and MORE!
With so many people visiting the NEW LIFE campus, more hands makes for lighter work and a safer environment for all or our guests, staff and volunteers. If you are interested in helping, please email Becca at Becca@newlifeforall.church
IT’S GOING TO BE A SPOOKTACULAR EVENT!!!!

Greetings Dear New Life family'
Is anyone else pretty well rained out like I am? I'm kidding, but late winter when our weather is so dry, and things are brown and brittle I can hardly wait for rainy season, with our daily tropical type rains. Of course, I hear "enough is enough " and we want it to dry up again. I know Don would like the lake at the end of our driveway to dry up!
Thinking about always wanting more, or different, or better situations, or things etc made me think about my prayer life. I try to pray with confidence that my prayer will be answered, but do I always wait on God's time, or do I get frustrated or discouraged and become impatient? I think sometimes we believe the lack of a speedy answer means God is ignoring them or not hearing them. I believe this is because we live in such a quick-fix world and expect immediate answers. I have been thinking about this a lot this past week. You know that I had foot surgery on September 9 and I have been blessed with your prayers, and was doing very well in my recovery. So I was disappointed this week to learn that the troubling symptoms that were developing were indeed an infection. The doctor then informed me that protocol is to remove the screw in that area of the big toe. This is devastating news to me because that means the surgery is for naught. With silent prayer we came up with a plan; I would take strong antibiotics but I would also call out my prayer warriors, and he's giving me 30 days before making the decision to remove the hardware. I need your help yet again. I'm asking God to allow me to share another miracle on the power of prayer, and I am blessed by this opportunity. I know that God is never out to trick us or harm us. Because we believe in His love, we can persist in prayer no matter how hard it is or how long it takes. When our faith is tested, our endurance has a chance to grow. Isaiah 40:31
Those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
Thank you for your prayers. I am grateful and humbled by your love.
Please remember to wear your nametags. If you don't have a new one yet, please let me know.
FYI- Oct. 2nd is the date that the 11o'clock service will have worship in the sanctuary.
Again, thank you for prayers!
I am praying for you!

Tuesday Night Small Groups
|
|
Beginning Sunday, October 2, The Harmony Class will begin a new 4-week DVD-based study “The Case For Christ” (book & movie) by investigative journalist and former atheist, Lee Strobel. This study will pose challenging questions and explore the real evidence of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Strobel shares what he learned when he sought the truth about Christianity which reveals compelling facts about Christ that cannot be ignored. Why believe Jesus is the Son of God? How can we know he rose from the dead? Can I have doubts and still be a Christian? Come join us at 10:30 a.m. in Lenox Hall. All are welcome to attend.

If it is or has been raining, Praise in the Park will relocate to our historic Sanctuary. Time may not always be sufficient to get the word out, so in case of inclement weather, please proceed to the Sanctuary.
