Newmark Associates announced that associate Ebony Parham has been named a business development manager for CRESDA, the Commercial Real Estate Supplier Diversity Alliance. CRESDA provides tailored solutions to fortune 500 and other large corporations’ real estate supplier diversity initiatives, in turn providing opportunities for CRESDA’s member base of diverse (minority-, woman-, veteran- and LGBTQ-owned) CRE brokerage firms nationwide. As business development manager, Ebony has taken the lead in developing meaningful relationships with corporations’ supplier diversity channels to provide real estate solutions that satisfy their initiatives.

The Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America list includes attorneys who are earlier in their careers and have demonstrated outstanding professional excellence in private practice. The attorneys included in the 2023 list are: Matthew S. Coleman, Dorothy J. Kenney, Alex Lee and Jessie M. Mills.

Additionally, two firm attorneys were included in the 2023 Newark “Lawyer of the Year” category. Gary R. Botwinick was included for Closely Held Companies and Family Business Law and Litigation-Trusts and Estates. Jason R. Rittie was included for Land Use and Zoning Law.
Laddey Clark & Ryan, LLP announced that Timothy J. Profeta has joined the firm as an associate in the Commercial Litigation and Government Services practice groups. Tim graduated magna cum laude from Rhode Island College, where he received a bachelor of arts degree in sociology. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law. Prior to joining Laddey, Clark & Ryan, Tim was an associate at a national law firm. Before that he served as a law clerk to Judge Maritza Berdote Byrne in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey.
In recognition of National Ambulatory Surgical Center Month (August), the administration at West Morris Surgery Center (WMSC) celebrated and recognized their staff as the “heart and soul of the business!” By providing safe, professional care with a personalized touch, WMSC consistently receives high patient satisfaction scores from its patients and physician members. 

In addition to WMSC staff’s dedication in their professional life, they are also an active part of the community by donating to local food banks, school supplies for teachers and students and collecting winter coats for Veterans. In addition, one of the center’s nurses is part of an international mercy mission assisting in the health care needs of the underprivileged in several African countries.  
Spencer Savings Bank recently partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County to help fulfill local homeownership dreams. Spencer employees volunteered their time on two job sites – a construction project in Hillsdale that included spackling walls and a refinishing project at the ReStore in Westwood where the team refinished furniture. The bank also made a monetary donation. Spencer has been a partner of Habitat for Humanity for more than two decades. During this time, the bank has donated almost $100,000 to the nonprofit, while employees have committed countless hours as volunteers.
Attorney Lisa Fried-Grodin has launched a new law firm, Fried-Grodin Employment Law, prompted by the speed at which the workplace was changing after COVID-19 started impacting businesses in significant ways, including new workplace safety issues, vaccine accommodation requests and mandates, and remote work issues. Fried-Grodin represents employees and employers in New Jersey and New York with litigation and also provides employment law advice to address situations successfully without litigation, including matters involving discipline and termination, sexual harassment, discrimination, medical and family leaves, whistleblower/retaliation, wage and hour requirements, compensation issues, employee classification issues (exempt and nonexempt employee status and contractor and employee status), employment agreements, separation agreements and workplace policies.
 
Before starting Fried-Grodin Employment Law, she was a partner at Meyers Fried-Grodin LLP, a firm she co-founded, for 11 years. Earlier in her legal career, she worked as an employment lawyer for Fox Rothschild and Grotta, Glassman & Hoffman. 
Morristown Medical Center (MMC) has received two prestigious honors. The hospital has been ranked the #1 hospital in New Jersey for the fifth year in a row, according to US News & World Report (U.S. News Best Hospitals - 2022-2023 - Atlantic Health). In addition, NRC Health (the health care arm of the National Research Council) released its 2022 Consumer Loyalty Award Top 100 list and MMC ranks among the TOP 10, joining Mayo Clinic, NY Presbyterian and California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles.
