Using the Alignment Fixture with Neuropixels 1.0 Probes

Due to manufacturing variations in the circuit boards of the Neuropixels probes, researchers often need to add shims between the circuit board and probe holder to achieve proper alignment.

This article describes how to align a Neuropixels 1.0 probe in New Scale’s MPM-Probe Mount-1AS probe holder, using the new Alignment Fixture.

This new probe mount was designed to quickly and precisely mount one or two Neuropixels 2.0 probes on each manipulator arm in the MPM System. In this recorded interactive demo session, we show:

MPM Probe Mounts are designed for use with the New Scale Multi-Probe Micromanipulator (MPM) System. Researchers have successfully adapted them for use with other manipulators.
