Academic and/or Professional Experience:

Sophomore at North Carolina A&T State University

HBCU Attended and Degree:

I attend North Carolina A&T State University and my major is Chemistry

Why did you consider going to an HBCU/ teaching at an HBCU?

I choose to attend North Carolina A&T because it offered a sense of community. This campus felt like a big family and the faculty/staff made me feel supported as I pursue my STEM career. With very few African Americans in STEM it might feel discouraging to want to continue into this career path. But the resources and staff here continuously make me feel prepared.

Any Extracurricular or Volunteer Activities:

I have volunteered mostly with the school, however I have helped with voter registration and feeding the homeless in Greensboro. I also am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, National Council of Negro Women as well as our school’s chapter of ACS (Chemistry Club).

Are you a member of CSW? Yes, I have been a member since I was accepted into the ACS Scholars Program which was 2021.
