Lakeway Earns Prominent Scenic City Award
The City of Lakeway has been awarded Gold Scenic City Certification for the second time by Scenic Texas. Lakeway is one of 22 cities earning first-time certification or re-certification.

The Scenic City Certification Program draws a direct correlation between the success of a city’s economic development efforts and the visual appearance of its public spaces. The program recognizes municipalities that implement high-quality scenic standards.

Lakeway was officially awarded the Scenic City Certification at a reception on Thursday, October 10, 2019 in San Antonio, during the Texas Municipal League’s Annual Conference Week. Mayor Sandy Cox and Interim City Manager Julie Oakley were present to receive the award.
