ISSUE 545 / June 15, 2023

Message from the Principal

Liebe TCGIS Gemeinschaft / Dear TCGIS Community,

Wir haben es geschafft!  We made it to the end of another school year together.  We wrapped up this school year with some wonderful milestones and celebrations.

On Sunday we celebrated 62 8th graders who graduated TCGIS as the Class of 2023. The ceremony was led by two student emcees, Anno Will-Anders in German and ShiAnne Marcus in English, class speaker, Alexis Cook, and student-chosen teacher speaker, science teacher, Frau Evelyn Stillwell. TCGIS continued the tradition of 8th-grade awards: The Marcy Zachmeier-Ruh Award for Excellent German was given to Anno Will-Anders, the Mary-Fred Bausman-Watkins Award for Academic Excellence was given to Elizabeth Seelig, and the Global Citizenship award for the student most exemplifying our TCGIS values was given to Noë Christensen. Families celebrated with sno-cones and donuts, and a walk down memory lane with a beautiful slideshow. Herzlichen Dank to the families and staff who planned graduation.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch to our wonderful graduates - wir sind stolz auf dich! We are proud of you!

A big thank you to our teachers, staff and volunteers for putting on an awesome end-of-the-year picnic at Como Park! We had a wonderful day celebrating our students' many accomplishments this year. Face painting, temporary tattoos, and the bounce house were the highlights across all 9 grades. A special thanks to Fredrikson for sponsoring this year's festivities!

Schöne Sommerferien! Have a wonderful summer!

Frau Zehnpfennig, TCGIS Principal

He will take home a bronze medal, certificate and the prestige of placing 3rd in the entire nation! His paper, The Panama Canal: A New Frontier for Tech, Travel and Trade was also showcased by the White House Historical Association this week. Congratulations, Theo! All that hard work paid off!

The PTO is thankful for all your support this year!
