Recognized for Commitment to Quality


14 Gardant-managed assisted living communities are being recognized by the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living for their commitment to quality with 2023 Bronze Quality Awards. The awards will be presented to the communities during the association’s national conference in Denver this fall.

 

In the past four years, 85% of Gardant-managed assisted living and memory care communities have been recognized by the association for their commitment to improving the lives of residents through quality care.

Celebrating 10 Years of Service

Heritage Woods of Freeport recently celebrated its 10th Anniversary. Over the past ten years, the supportive living community has served more than 380 older adults of all incomes.

 

During the celebration, resident Sara Lynn Sanders was recognized for ten years of residency, and Brenda Price, Dietary Aide; Dave Williams, Housekeeper;  Iris Littlejohn, Cook; Kay Hablin, Receptionist; and Sheila Amborn, Executive Director, for 10 years of service. Illinois State Senator Andrew Chesney and Illinois State Reps. Tony McCombie and John Cabello were among those who attended.

Congratulations Future Leader

Congratulations to Kara Luca on being selected into the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living Future Leader program. Kara is the Executive Director of Cambridge House of Maryville, a Gardant-managed Supportive Living community in the St. Louis Metro East area.

Gardant Selected to Manage Two Communities in Central Illinois

Gardant recently was selected two manage to affordable senior living communities in Springfield, Illinois. Timberlake Supportive Living features 60 studio and one-bedroom apartments for adults 65 and older who may need some help to maintain their independence. Timberlake Estates features apartments for adults 55 years of age and older. Both communities are ministries of Abundant Faith Church.

Advocating for Assisted Living

Gardant was honored to participate in the 2023 American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living Congressional Briefing in Washington, D.C. Gardant team members joined with the delegations from Illinois and Indiana in their visits with U.S. Senators and Representatives and their staffs to advocate for nursing homes and assisted living.

Men’s Health and Cataract Awareness

June is designated as Men’s Health and Cataract Awareness Month. Men’s Health Month is a time for encouraging men to take care of their physical and mental health. Cataracts are the leading cause of vision loss in the United States. According to the National Eye Institute, more than half of all individuals who are 80 years of age or older either have cataracts or have had surgery to remove cataracts.
