Weekly Director Letter 04/01/2022
Dear Parents,

Welcome to April! This week our VPK kids learned about their lungs and the role they play in breathing. They also learned that air is a gas you cannot see but it takes up space. They blew air into a bag to see how much air their lung hold. Then they used a straw to blow bubbles in a bowl. Here is a link to the video of the lesson, it is about 6 minutes long.

Many parents have asked if they can attend the Spring Egg Hunt on April 12th. The short answer is yes. I am talking to parents to determine the best way to do this so that all parents will feel safe having parents on campus. Next week I will share the schedule with you so that if you wish to attend you will know the time for your child. We will open the gate 10 minutes early so that parents on site can help us to hide the eggs. Keep in mind that once the kids get to the playground the entire egg hunt only last 6-9 minutes....Our little rabbits are fast! Right after the eggs are found, we will have to ask parents who are coming to please do not linger as we will need to hide the egg for the next class. To get everyone on the playground the hunts take place one after another.

Finally, you may have seen on or calendar Weekly Teacher Appreciation Lunches. We started this many years ago. Most schools do a teacher appreciation day. Ten years ago when we did that, so much food came in the teachers could not possibly enjoy it all. That said, we decided we would appreciate our staff over a 2 month period. Next week will be the first one. A sign up sheet will be put up on Monday so that families of children in Silver and Gold classes can sign up to bring something to contribute to the first appreciation luncheon that will take place Thursday, April 7th. Those families are asked to sign up for one item on the list. The ENTIRE staff will be invited to share in the lunch. Here are the dates for the other classes. Thanks for helping to make our staff feel so very special.
