Our annual Shred-it was a huge success! Approximately 50 clients stopped by to take advantage of our annual shredding service. Their documents in need of shredding filled up a total of about eight bins. Clients enjoyed refreshments, the chance to win a prize, and lively conversations with our team members! |

Community Involvement/Philanthropy |
Chief Investment Officer Jason Gunkel participated in a golf outing for the 100 Men on a Mission organization. Jason is a member of 100 Men on a Mission, a group of local men who are committed to supporting our local community. Their mission is to reach out and help our community by finding 100 or more men to each contribute $100 four times a year to give $40,000+ annually to local charities.

Healthiest State 11th Annual Walk |
|
Syverson Strege employees had a great experience participating in the Healthiest State Initiative 11th Annual Walk, presented by Delta Dental of Iowa. The goal of the 30-minute walk was to promote the importance of physical activity and social connectedness.
The walk represented more than just 30 minutes of activity, but also a commitment to improving the overall physical, mental, and social health of ourselves and the state of Iowa! For more resources on how to live an active lifestyle, visit www.iowahealthieststate.com.
On an ongoing basis, Syverson Strege has a couple of active walkers – Associate Financial Planners Mike Murkins and Ben Geiger. They walk nearly every day during their lunch hours to get some fresh air, connect with each other as co-workers, and sometimes walk to Chick-fil-A to pick up lunch!

Syverson Strege hosted the Charitable Estate Planning Seminar live webcast. The charitable estate planning webcast featured Ann Burns (Lathrop GPM LLP) and Professor Samuel A. Donaldson (Georgia State University College of Law). Several Syverson Strege financial planners and associate financial planners attended the Red Shield Symposium to further their education on charitable estate planning. |

Chief Investment Officer Jason Gunkel attended the two-day Schwab virtual conference called IMPACT 2021. IMPACT is the premier annual industry event where thousands of advisors, speakers, experts, and sponsors gather to share ideas, build their knowledge, and find new inspiration for improving client service. |

Iowa SHRM State Conference |

Meri Grogan, Director of Finance and Administration, attended the Iowa SHRM State Conference “HR All In” downtown Des Moines. The conference is hosted by the Iowa SHRM (Society for Human Resources Management) State Council. Meri is responsible for directing all human resources activities at Syverson Strege. |

FPA of Iowa Annual Symposium |

Jerin Young, TC Conley, and Mike Murkins attended the 2021 FPA of Iowa Annual Symposium presented by the Financial Planning Association of Iowa. The Symposium is an all-day educational event intended to help financial professionals stay up to date on the various financial planning issues that arise. |

Legends of Manufacturing Event |

Financial Planner Wayne Johnson attended the Legends of Manufacturing dinner in Altoona, Iowa. The event was sponsored by the Iowa Association of Business & Industry (ABI) and Elevate Advanced Manufacturing. The purpose of the dinner is to recognize legends in manufacturing for their hard work and dedication to Iowa, the industry, and their company. |

David Strege - Volleyball Tournament |

If you know David or have him as your financial planner, you know that he loves volleyball! David competed in the Huntsman World Senior Games in St. George, Utah earlier this month and his 55+ team once again brought home the gold medal! David's wife, Jen, also won a gold medal in the tournament's women's 60's division. Congratulations, David and Jen!

Veterans Day - November 11 |

We honor and celebrate the service of all U.S. military veterans! Words cannot adequately express the deep, heartfelt appreciation for the faithful, committed, and humble service of our veterans who have paved the way for American freedom. Although most of us cannot fathom their extraordinary sacrifices, we recognize their significance. To all of our clients who are veterans, thank you!
An Iowa veteran, Sara Maniscalco Robinson, has a goal to preserve our nation’s history through the words of our veterans. She has interviewed and shared the stories of countless military members through her website, Iowa Veterans’ Perspective. She has volunteered to interview veterans from all over Iowa and veterans who live in other parts of the country.
