Tonight we will explore Centering Prayer
1.  Choose a sacred word as the symbol of your intention to consent to God’s presence and action within.
2.     Sitting comfortably and with eyes closed, settle briefly and silently introduce the sacred word as the symbol of your consent to God’s presence and action within
3.     When engaged with your thoughts, return ever-so-gently to the sacred word.
4.     At the end of the prayer period, remain in silence with eyes closed for a couple of minutes.

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION
with MOTHER CATHERINE
Mother Catherine is now offering Spiritual Direction at St. John’s. Spiritual direction, also known as spiritual companionship, is an interpersonal relationship formed to support individuals as they attempt to deepen their relationship with the divine, seek spiritual discernment around various life events or transitions, or to learn and grow in their personal spirituality.

You will meet regularly with Mother Catherine, typically once per month; there is no charge for the sessions and generally the length is one hour and can be arranged to fit your schedule. All sessions are completely confidential. Contact the office if you are interested in setting up an appointment: 516-671-3226
