This Sunday!

Join Us This Sunday as we Set Sail on a Voyage of Discernment

In preparation for worship this week, please read Chapter 3: The Wind

Still Need a Copy of the Book?

We have copies of the book available at church. You may pick one up this Sunday or arrange to drop by the office between 8am-2pm, Monday-Thursday. There is no fee for the book, however, an optional donation of $10 would cover the cost to the church.

If you live locally, but are unable to come to church to pick up a copy, please contact the office and Pastor Kim will arrange to have a book dropped off at your home.

You may prefer to read e-books. Good news! The book is available on all the digital reading platforms (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Apple Books).

This Sunday we are honored to welcome Gail Stearns, the Dean of the Wallace All Faiths Chapel and Associate Professor of Religious and Peace Studies at Chapman University to our pulpit. Her interfaith work seeks to move beyond a comparative religions approach to true interfaith engagement. She is also a well-known teacher of Mindfulness, a meditation that cultivates present awareness, helps to reduce anxiety, and fosters compassion. Her most recent book, Liberating Mindfulness: from Billion-Dollar Industry to Engaged Spirituality, was published earlier this summer. Gail, a PCUSA pastor, currently serves as Vice Moderator of the Presbytery of Los Ranchos. She is a gifted communicator, wise teacher, and delightful person. Please make her welcome.

This Sunday Gail Stearns will preach from

John 14: 15-20

Expecting the Spirit in Me and in You

Prayer Requests and Praise Reports

We join Christina Cuddy in giving thanks for her son, John's, complete recovery following his hospitalization for a serious bacterial infection on their recent trip to Peru. John is back in school and doing great! They also ask for prayer for a family friend, Luke. Luke is a high school sophomore whose promising athletic career has been cut short following a serious collar bone break and arm dislocation.

Please pray for those in treatment for cancer: Catherine Morris, Rosemary Ford, Bill Anderson (Bruce Anderson's Brother).

Please pray for those on hospice: Patricia Carl.

Please continue to pray for the health of: Mary Bouas, Norma Leichtweis, Dave Maresh, Bob Fieldhouse, Marilyn Worden, Clif Buchanan, William Thode (Ruth Dorman's brother in law).

If you have a prayer request that you would like to add to our prayer list,

please contact the church office: offices@anaheimfirstpres.org or 714.535.2176.
