COVID-19 Update
Restaurants and retail establishments can go back to a 75% occupancy this week from 50% that was in place last week. Elective surgeries can once again resume at area hospitals as well. This is due to a section in Governor Abbott's statewide COVID-19 Order specifying that areas with hospitalizations of more than 15% of COVID-19 patients occupying hospital space must enact further restrictions. The number in our area fell below that 15% threshold this past weekend.

While vaccinations continue for groups 1A and 1B, doses of the vaccine remain limited statewide. Please continue to speak with your health care provider and sign up for waitlists that are available in the area if you qualify. We have several links set up on our website, including the pre-registration portal with Austin Public Health - the main hub here in Travis County. Please click here to connect to those resources. Additionally, Mayor Sandy Cox gave another update yesterday afternoon on the latest with COVID-19 vaccinations in the area. Click here to watch that video.

The number of reported cases and hospitalizations dropped again this week. There have been a total of 71,164 cumulative cases in Travis County, which is up by 3,598 compared with the same time last week and 3,815 compared with the week before that. Here is a further breakdown of the numbers:

Victims Services Volunteers Needed
The Victim Services Unit of the Lakeway Police Department is seeking to fill six volunteer positions. The goals of the unit are to provide crisis stabilization and support services to Lakeway and Bee Cave victims, witnesses, survivors, and co-victims experiencing crime or trauma, in order to speed their recovery and aid them through the criminal justice process. The Victim Services Unit can assist victims directly as well as coordinate with other agencies in providing support, information, and resources that can effectively meet victims’ needs. These free services provide crime victims with a continuum of support from the initial crisis period through the investigative and judicial processes. If you are interested in volunteering, fill out an application through the city's
volunteer page. If you have any questions, please contact our Victim Assistance Coordinator Kara McLeod at [email protected].
