Moraga public schools are some of the best in the state even though they are some of the lowest-funded. Your donations to the Moraga Education Foundation give our schools the resources they need to provide a top-notch academic experience - from elementary science teachers and JM STEM electives to Campo courses such as Computer-Integrated Manufacturing and Biotech. Your donations make those programs possible and SO MUCH MORE.
Your MEF donations enhance the academic experience of all students in the Moraga public schools, from TK through graduation. Read more below!
Academics at Elementary Schools: your donations fund...
Science Teachers
New this year, elementary students get to visit the science lab each week with credentialed science teachers. Watch this quick chat with an elementary principal about elementary science to see how Moraga students are learning by doing!

"Science teachers do labs and hands-on learning with the students in the science lab and also collaborate with classroom teachers to extend the learning throughout the rest of the week."

Brian Sullivan
Rheem Principal
Libraries
Elementary students visit their school library weekly where they are introduced to new stories and get to check out books!
Educational Technology
Instead of visiting the computer lab, students have technology integrated into their classrooms where teachers can use it to enhance the curriculum and engage students.
"Students spent much of the pandemic being technology consumers; now it is time to reset the bar to teach them how to be technology learners, creators, and inventors while reinforcing responsible digital citizenship. Educators rely on technology as a vital learning tool throughout the curriculum to help prepare students for the challenges of tomorrow."

Electives
Your donations make it possible for JM to offer a wide array of electives such as Languages (French, Spanish, & Mandarin), Magic of Electrons, Robotics, Coding, Foods, and Earth Stewardship.

"Thanks to MEF support, students get to learn the basics of Python programming language, helping to prepare them for our increasingly technology-driven world."

Jason Blalock
JM Science and Coding Teacher
Department Supplies
Department Supply Grants fund items such as science lab supplies and equipment so that science teachers don't have to ask for additional donations from JM families.
Library
The library at JM is not only a place for students to check out a wide variety of books, but it is also a hub of student activity, providing a place to gather or a quiet place to study.
1:1 Technology
Your MEF donations make it so that every student has a device to use at school, creating equity and allowing teachers to more-effectively integrate technology into their lessons.
"The MEF grant has saved us a ton of time in having to ask & track down money for labs and consumables. We are able to purchase science composition books for each student, materials & equipment for our weekly labs, & have our microscopes cleaned annually."

Michaela Tondi
JM Science Teacher

Department Grants
Thanks to MEF Department Grants, students in Campo's Living Earth class get to learn about life and biology by raising chicks. Watch this video to see how excited and engaged these kids are about science!
Every academic department can purchase the equipment and supplies they need to best teach their students. Watch this video of Physics teacher Mr. Talcott talking about the impact of Department Grants in his classroom.
"This year, MEF grant dollars are being used to purchase drone kits for my engineering classes. Students will be designing a drone body and 3D printing them. They will then put the drone parts onto the body they printed to see if it flies!"

Steve Boone
Campolindo Engineering Teacher
Class Sections
Seventeen additional class sections in all academic departments mean more variety of subjects and smaller class sizes. Watch this video to hear Mr. Chugh talk about BioTech and its relevance to the lives of his students.
Professional Development
Teachers keep their skills strong with ongoing professional development. One example is the California Mathematics Council Conference that math teachers are able to attend.
Library
Your MEF donations support the library by funding items such as eBook Subscriptions, educational databases, charging stations, study tables, and seating.
These academic programs are made possible thanks to donors like YOU!
