VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: TITAN ROBOTICS FTC COMPETITION

Titan Robotics will be hosting an FTC Competition at Interlake High School on Sunday, November 14, 10:00 AM-4:30 PM. We’re looking for both student and parent volunteers. This is a great opportunity to watch a robotics competition while also earning 6.5 volunteer hours. If you’re interested, sign up here (you may need to create an account). Questions? GOODWILL DRIVE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

ISPTSA GOODWILL FUNDRAISER

International School Parking Lot

Start gathering your donations! The International School PTSA will be hosting a Goodwill Drive on Saturday, November 20, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM. Clothes, shoes, household items, small electronics, books, toys, sporting goods, and accessories can be collected. Please no large furniture. Goodwill is also a certified e-waste recycler, so they will take computers, peripherals, televisions, monitors, and other e-waste. Email Emilie, ISPTSA President, with questions.

TITAN TRIBUTE OF THE WEEK

This week’s Titan Teacher of the Week is our very own WES HUNG! Wes has THREE science degrees from the University of Washington, which would make his favorite high school teacher, Mr. Olsen, quite proud. He loves investing money, collecting Legos and Star Wars, and traveling… especially to his favorite place… NORWAY!
Wes loves steak, sushi, and his favorite part of working at International School is Fri-YAY! Next time you are in the 200 hallway, say hi to Wes Hung, our Titan Teacher of the Week!

IS LOTTERY APPLICATIONS

International School Lottery Applications for incoming 6th grade (current 5th grade) students for the 202223 school year will be accepted beginning Monday, December 6. The application period will close Friday, January 7 at 4:30 PM. Siblings of current International School students must apply by January 7 at 4:30 PM to be enrolled in Autumn 2022. For more information, visit this webpage. LAST CHANCE YEARBOOK SALES

If you missed the window to buy a yearbook, you're in luck! There will be a "last chance" opportunity coming up from Saturday, November 27 to Thursday, December 16. Purchase through your student account in Touchbase. For questions, email Jill Follett, Counseling Secretary.
IS LOST AND FOUND IS OVERFLOWING!

Has your child lost a jacket, sweatshirt, or water bottle? Please have them check the lost and found rack. Also, the main office also has two pairs of unclaimed eyeglasses. All items will be donated next Friday, November 19. Please email Ellen Stone, IS School Secretary, if you have questions.

WHEN YOUR STUDENT IS SICK

The Washington Department of Health recently updated its guidance regarding returning to school if symptoms are present. Please refer to this updated guidance flowchart. If in doubt, our staff is able to provide guidance on the flowchart. Nurse News has additional information about the requirement for students and staff to have a negative COVID test to return to school. Contact the IS Main Office or IS Nurse, Sarah Kim for questions.

JUBILEE REACH UPDATE

Due to staffing shortages, Jubilee Reach has needed to temporarily suspend service for International School effective immediately. The immediate impact is that the next season—flag football—will not occur. At this time, we are looking for staffing solutions so that we can restore this wonderful opportunity for our middle school students. If you know of anyone who might be interested in working for Jubilee Reach, learn more about their employment opportunities.
