I feel like there is so much to recap for everyone as we are now in March! My paragraphs here are going to have links to a few forms and even a YouTube video from January's Guest Speaker.
We did get our second installment of our grant from The Purple Heart Service Foundation recently. You can read about the Grant and what you can do with your Unit or Department with those funds for Veteran Projects in your area. Grants are available up to $2000 each. Read more HERE.
While many members are still having meetings on Zoom, help us Save Your Dates. If your Department is planning a convention, whether online or in person, please let us know the details so we can save the date and plan for officers to attend, if appropriate.
We are looking towards a hybrid type National Convention for those not able to attend in person. The Convention is set to take place in Charleston, West Virginia from August 2-5 at the Marriott Town Center. Rooms will be $95 per night and include parking, wifi, and breakfast for two. A flyer and webpage should be published soon with more details. I will share registration details with you as soon as I have them.
If you missed the January Special Guest Speaker on Compassion Fatigue, You can watch on our YouTube HERE.
In Service and Patriotism,
Amanda

Spring into Action!
Hooray! We officially have one more hour of sunlight! Each new day brings another bright hour of possibility. I don’t thrive well in the gloomy days of Winter; I tend to be more productive when the weather is warm and I can be comfortably outside with my journal or notepad – making to-do lists and editing them often. Over the last few days, I focused on ways to have a successful physical, virtual, or hybrid convention. The possibilities are truly endless when it comes to this.
Although the last year has been difficult and frustrating trying to schedule physical, virtual, or “hybrid” meetings, we do our best by expecting the worst and hoping for the best. And through adversity, amazing accomplishments can be made! By keeping to tradition and perhaps adding fun activities, your Unit meetings or Department Convention will be a productive and memorable one.
Over the next few weeks, we hope that Departments will schedule their conventions, complete Installation and Inspection Reports, and file the ever so important 990 IRS forms. Don’t be intimidated to complete these important tasks. Your National Admin Team looks forward to hearing from everyone and we truly want to assist your Units and Departments in any way.
So let’s “Spring into Action” and make the most of an hour of extra sunlight.
Colleen

LAST CALL FOR CHAPLAIN SUBMISSIONS
Are you a current Unit or Department Chaplain? Are you a Past National Chaplain? We want to hear from you.
We are working on a compilation of Chaplains Prayers, Scripture readings, and instructions to put together for a Chaplain's Handbook. Please send me any submissions you may want to include, preferably in a format where we can copy/paste from your documents or email. If they are sent printed or scanned, we have to retype them. Your submissions will be printed with credit to member submitting.
Don't forget our Rada Fundraiser continues! Please find the link below to shop and support our Auxiliary. We also will take donations as some would rather contribute that way than purchase products.
May you each feel the love and admiration that I hold within my heart- we are sisters that serve,
not ourselves but others.
Serving with heart and hands,
Kay Jo

One of the most important things we can do is to pray for one another. It strengthens the bond between us, as children of God and it is effective. There have been hundreds of studies
done on the effectiveness of prayer, and the conclusion is that prayer works. It "availeth much."
We should be faithful to pray for another, to be accountable to each other. When we do, we are promised that our prayers will be effective.
Prayers
Father, Help me to pray for others and to strengthen the bond of our Christian brotherhood by praying one for another. You have promised that my prayers will be heard. Amen
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

In Appreciation
The key to our success rests with people like you,
Who embody the spirit of greatness
By saying, “Yes, I can, and you can, too!”
Greetings from Region IV to members and friends of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Auxiliary! 2021 is well underway and I hope that each of you and your families are well and being safe and you will get your COVID vaccine when it’s time.
During this unprecedented time, most departments and units are not meeting in person; however, the time is near for department conventions, elections and installations of officers for 2021-2022 by April 30th and annual reports due by May 15th. Refer to MOPHA Procedures Manual Chapter 22 (MOPHA Key Due Dates) and go to www.purpleheartauxiliary.org for annual report forms. Do not hesitate to call or email me for assistance at anytime.
Again, I want to thank the leadership and members of each department and unit for completing the reports due to meet the October 1st deadline in order to receive a member rebate. Thank you National MOPHA for such a “healthy” member rebate.
If you have not done so already, I encourage departments and units to apply for the Helping Our Veterans (HOV) Grant of up to $250.00. This grant will help tremendously in your programs to serve our Veterans and their families. Also, if you have not, departments and units please take advantage of the VAVS Service Grant 2021 of up to $2000 available to you on a first come, first serve basis. If you have questions and/or need an Application, you may contact National VAVS Representative Linda Varejcka at jfvarejcka@windstream.net.
The link to National’s Rada Cultery fundraiser for 2020-2021 is on the website – very reasonable prices and offers so much to the customer. This fundraiser is hosted by National Junior Vice President Kay Jo Baucom and she is very excited to tell you about it.
Remember, the key to the MOPHA’s success rest with people like you; and together, we can make a difference. Our Goal should always be “100% Participation”.
In Patriotism & Service,
Diane
