Why is the City holding a workshop about land use alternatives?
Land use is the centerpiece of the City’s General Plan! The land use map describes the intended future use and density of every parcel in the City, such as residential, commercial, or mixed-use. The General Plan update will revise the current land use map to establish a direction for the City over the next 25 years and demonstrate that the City is providing housing capacity mandated by the State.
Why should you attend?
At the workshop, you will learn about the General Plan update process, and how your community input so far has guided the creation of the three different draft land use alternatives proposed for managing the future growth of the City. Your input will decide which land use alternative is recommended to the Planning Commission and City Council in March and April 2021. The presentation and workshop materials will be available for download at www.toaks2045.org.
