On November 5th, our 7th and 8th graders had the opportunity to attend a full-day WCA Leadership Conference. The students enjoyed learning about how growing leaders show vulnerability, share authentically and care compassionately.

Spirit Day: Crazy Socks & Hair
Classroom Gratitude Activity: Students will write down something they are thankful for about WCA and add it to our WCA gratitude tree.

Tuesday, November 16

Spirit Day: Sports Jerseys or Team Fan Wear
Beta Club Induction at 7:30am in MPR
Classroom Gratitude Activity: Students will write thank you notes to the staff of Weddington Christian Academy and Weddington United Methodist Church.
First Basketball Game at Marvin AME Church vs. NCA at 4:30pm

Wednesday, November 17

Spirit Day: Furry Friends and Hoodies
Classroom Gratitude Activity: Every student is encouraged to BRING IN ONE (OR MORE) CANNED FOOD ITEM to donate to the Union County Community Center. Donations will be presented to our guest speaker from the center during Chapel.

Thursday, Nov 18

Spirit Day: Hat Day
Classroom Gratitude Activity: Students, please RETURN YOUR OPERATION CHRISTMAS SHOEBOX. Our Student Council will deliver them to the church.

Friday, November 19

Spirit Day: WCA Yellow Logo Shirts
Gratitude Activity: Parents and grandparents are invited to the OUTDOOR THANKSGIVING PICNIC from 10am -12:30 pm. The PTF will present a short program followed by a few songs performed by our students. We will then enjoy a picnic lunch. Please bring a lawn chair or a blanket. If you did not purchase a bagged lunch through the school, please bring lunch. After lunch, we will enjoy some activities on the back lawn of the school. If you are unable to attend, your student will remain with their teacher until early dismissal at 12:30 pm.

NUTS - No Uniforms to School Day! Students may wear their own casual attire; uniforms are not required. Please bring $1 donation for Home of the Good Shepherd Orphanage in Kenya and $1 if your student would like to buy ice cream at lunch.

WCA Enrollment for the 2022-23 School Year

Thank you for entrusting us with your child(ren) for the 2021-2022 school year. We look forward to partnering with your family again. Please mark your calendars for re-enrollment and share our church and community enrollment dates with your friends and family.

Winter STEAM Day

Thursday, December 16th

All is Calm...All is Bright. Our Winter STEAM Day will be a day of reflection and remembering the night Jesus was born. Could it be that we will even hear the soft flutter of angels’ wings?

At 1:30pm the PTF has arranged for a food truck to come serve our kids hot chocolate. We will also enjoy some yummy Christmas cookies. Parents are welcome to join us and purchase a warm beverage from the food truck.

Carpool Safety!

For our student's safety, please only allow your student to unload at one of the three cones by a teacher. Make sure backpacks are packed and ready, and say your goodbyes before you reach the unloading area to help carpool run efficiently and as quickly as possible. Thank you for your help!

Pop Top Tabs for Ronald McDonald House

Please save your pop tabs from canned drinks and bring them to school! We are collecting them for the Ronald McDonald House.

Guest Speaker in Chapel

We were blessed to have two special guests in Chapel last week in honor of Veterans Day. Lt. Burton Zill, of the Waxhaw Police Department (retired US Army) lead our Upper School Chapel. And Captain Bobby Haulk, of the Waxhaw Police Department (retired US Army) lead our Lower School and JrK/K Chapels.

Veterans Day at WCA!

To honor our servicemen and women on Veterans Day, it was Red, White, and Blue Day at WCA. We were busy celebrating and learning in so many beautiful ways. Students visited our Veteran/Serviceperson interview display, created thank you cards for the VA Hospital, enjoyed patriotic class projects, made poppy pictures in art class, and read lots of books. Our students did a great job honoring our veterans! #wca20strong #allinhim
