New Year's Safety Advice
With the ongoing rapid spread of the COVID-19 Omicron variant, this New Year celebration is once again about keeping in mind the health and safety protocols practiced over the past 20-plus months. Besides the COVID-19 pandemic, it is also cold and flu season, and there is an abundance of Cedar pollen in the air. This can make it difficult to tell the difference of what you may have come down with if you are feeling ill. Besides remembering to wear a proper face covering when around others (whether vaccinated or not vaccinated), washing your hands regularly and practicing social distancing, the CDC has some additional recommendations on how you can celebrate safely this New Year holiday if you plan to head out:

  • Test to prevent spread to others.
  • Avoid crowds and poorly ventilated indoor spaces.
  • Get vaccinated.
  • Don't host or attend a gathering if you are sick or have symptoms.
  • Consider delaying travel until you are fully vaccinated.

From everyone with the City of Lakeway, we wish you a safe and healthy 2022!
