Celebrating a successful Love Match Fundraising Campaign - just under $100,000 to go - we can do it, Magnolia

Whole Lot of Love in Magnolia

With many thanks to our donors, February’s Love Match Fundraising Campaign was a HUGE success.

Our goal was to raise an additional $25,000 based on a gift from a generous neighbor who challenged Reimagine Magnolia Village to match his donation of the same amount.

The results are astounding.

Not only did we meet the match, our donors gave a total of $40,000 during the campaign. Thank you, Magnolia for stepping up to the plate. Our anonymous donor is deeply proud of the community and will be matching the entire $40,000. What a month of LOVE, generosity, and accomplishment.

To read more about the fundraising campaign and most importantly, what these funds mean to implementing the beautification project, read this great story in our local Queen Anne-Magnolia News.

And, speaking of love, hearty cheers and congratulations to Chairperson Cheryl McQuiston for being named the Magnolia Chamber of Commerce's Person of the Year for 2020. What a well-deserved honor and recognition of her tireless and highly successful leadership of the Reimagine Magnolia Village project. Kudos also to Modele's - a great local business whose owner Deb Bluestein, is a generous supporter of the beautification project - for being named Business of the Year for 2020.

The Reimagine Magnolia Village Team is on the move

The team of volunteers who plan and implement the Reimagine Magnolia Village project never stop in their efforts to make Magnolia a great place to live, work, and play. The colorful winter banners came down and the whimsical Spring banners went up on Saturday, March 6th. Nothing but thanks and gratitude to the intrepid volunteers who design, curate, and install the cheery banners and thank you to our donors who support making our Village a great place to celebrate the seasons.

Exciting news. Phases II and III of the Reimagine Magnolia Village begin on March 15th.

Work will include preparing areas for flower pole installation along West McGraw Street and between 33rd and 35th Avenue West. In addition, the existing tree wells will be prepared for the application of Porous Pave material and groundwork will be completed for the planting of new trees.

Preparations are well under way to apply for another grant from the city of Seattle’s Department of Neighborhoods. If we are successful, the new grant will help pay for tables, chairs and new benches for Phases II & III. We are hopeful that we will be successful in securing the grant and expanding the very popular seating installations.
We Need YOU and a Few More Magnolians

Because of our donors, we enjoyed an amazing month of fundraising to improve Magnolia Village. You and your gifts have made Magnolia Village a great place to shop and dine, meet with friends, savor a cup of coffee, and spend quality time enjoying the ambiance of the neighborhood. Your generosity in February was astonishing; thank you for your commitment to improving the place we call home. With your support, we’ve funded a good portion of Phases II & III.

To fully complete Phases II & III of Reimagine Magnolia Village, we still need to raise just under $100,000.

We know there are many more of us out there – neighbors who love our community and want to make the Village a beautiful place to spend time and support local businesses and services. There are approximately 10,000 families who live in Magnolia. … and many of them feel just like you and our other donors … they want to support local merchants and create a place to enjoy. Please share our newsletters and website with your friends and neighbors and ask others to support Magnolia Village beautification.

There are many ways to give.

Please review the different levels of gift options by clicking here (scroll the donate page to see all of our donors.) A friendly reminder that there are four remaining benches that can be purchased to support Phases II and III. Purchasing a bench for $1200 is a great way to permanently honor a family member, a friend, or whomever you want to memorialize by making a legacy gift.
Thank you to Rainbow Landscaping and Coast to Coast Turf

We’re all about beautification and making Magnolia attractive and the most welcoming neighborhood in Seattle and beyond.

A big thank you to Rainbow Landscaping and Coast to Coast Turf for cleaning up the entrance at the top of the Magnolia Bridge. We are excited for the solar lights that will soon be installed.
