Finish the sentence: Diamonds are...
Diamonds are...
a) ... a very hard substance.
b) ... a girl's best friend.
c) ... symbolic of a 75 year anniversary.
d) ... all of the above.

If you answered all of the above, you might be right! I'm sure we can add other endings to that first line though too, but I really just want to focus on item c, "symbolic of a 75 year anniversary.

Did you know that this year of 2021, we as a Parish community celebrate 75 years of existence here in Maplewood/Eastside? Because of that, we're going to be planning multiple events and activities throughout this year to celebrate.

To kick things off, on Saturday, February 6th, we will be holding our annual Panther Pride Auction: Presentation Shines - 75th Diamond Anniversary Virtual Auction. Due to the pandemic, the event will be virtual (live-streamed). and we'll still need your participation. There are a ton of cool things that'll be raffled off, including: an elite gas-grill, a quarter of a cow and $500. Many other great items to bid on in our online auction as well.

In the midst of this pandemic, our 75th Diamond Anniversary as a parish community will shine bright! And it'll shine all the more brighter as we celebrate in it together! More details are below, but please make sure to save the date and pass the word out! This is going to be an exciting year, especially with the Panther Auction to kick things off!

Baby Items Advent Collection Results

Thank you! A big thank you to everyone who donated items for the yearly Baby Items Advent collection. We were totally surprised by the outpouring of items donated this year. We collected over 150 baby outfits, over 75 blankets plus other items such as baby diapers, wipes, shampoo, toys, sensory blankets, and the list goes on. Again thank you for your continued support of Options for Women East as they help pregnant mothers in need.
Mother Teresa Sewing Group

In 2020 the Mother Teresa Sewing Group donated over 466 items including:
113 blankets, 188 hats, 23 mittens, 31 scarves, 18 sweaters, 18 pillow cases, 2 pair of booties, and 73 “other” items like pajamas, baby sacks, and nursing covers. The donations went to Options for Women-East, Catholic Charities Family Shelter, Ramsey County Care Center, Marian Center, Second Stork, and Catholic Charities Distribution Center. Would you like to get involved? We meet once a month to collect materials at the parish center then work on projects in our homes. For more information please contact Irene O’Ryan at 651-776-8049.
Stewardship
Amidst this pandemic, I have been very edified by the generous outpouring of love and support from our community. Thank you!

Loaves & Fishes
Serving meals to those who have none is still an essential ministry during this pandemic.
Please prayerfully consider giving to this ministry. Donations can be placed in an envelope with Loaves & Fishes written on it, and dropped in the basket at church or in the secured mailbox at the Parish Center.
Catholic Services Appeal
The Catholic Services Appeal is still in need of your support to serve those many ministries that not one community can do on it's own, all the more during this pandemic.
