Season's Greetings! As we celebrate the holidays this month and prepare to welcome 2021, we do so with hope for a brighter year ahead. To start the New Year off on a positive note, we are excited to announce the first annual Town of Monroe Calendar which will be available for pre-order beginning today! Each page features the beauty of our Town as captured by Town of Monroe resident and graphic designer, Ed Scully. We've included a sneak peek as well as details on how to place a calendar pre-order below.

Town of Monroe 2021 Calendar Available for
Pre-Order!
We are excited to announce the launch of the Town of Monroe yearly calendar designed by Town of Monroe resident and graphic designer, Ed Scully. The calendar features breath taking photos of our Town's landscape and landmarks as well as an accompanying description of each location. Also included are important town meeting dates and contact information, both local and county specific. Calendars are $5.00 each and are available for pre-order by emailing Nick Lombardi at nlombardi@monroeny.org. Please include your name, contact information and the quantity of calendars you are interested in pre-ordering. Calendars will be available for pick-up in early January.
Town of Monroe Employees Brighten the Holiday Season for A Local Family
Town of Monroe employees recently participated in the Giving Tree Program through the Sacred Heart Parish Outreach Program by adopting a local family in need. Through employee donations, items on the family's wish list were purchased in the hope of easing their burden and brightening their holiday season.

Monroe Prepares to Welcome New Businesses in 2021!
Monarca Cantina

In 2021 we will welcome Monarca Cantina to 438 Lakes Road (formerly Bocci's). This will be the second location for the owners who currently operate Frontera Tacos and Tequila in Middletown, New York. Extensive building upgrades are underway with an opening anticipated in the next few months. For more information and updates on the grand opening, please visit www.monarcacantina.com.
Aroma Cigar Bar

Calling all cigar aficionados! Aroma Cigar Bar will soon open their doors in the 791 Plaza on Route 17 M in Monroe. The renovations to this space reflect incredible craftmanship which has resulted in a very inviting atmosphere.

Rosalie Boutique

Rosalie Boutique , a vendor at The Monroe Marketplace, will join our growing community of small businesses when it opens its doors at 36 Lake Street in the Spring of 2021. Owners Brittany and Rosa are excited to share their beautiful selection of jeans, jackets, boots, designer handbags and more with our residents. Additional information regarding their grand opening will be shared in the coming months.
Game On Sports Bar and Grill

Game On Sports Bar and Grill will soon open its doors at the former Hops Craft location in Federal Plaza on Route 17M. Game On will offer local draft brews, bottles and cocktails along with an enticing menu of appetizers, wings and burgers! The owners have completed an extensive remodel and we look forward to their grand opening in the near future!
Exciting Announcement Coming Soon Regarding 15 Lake Street!
As the revitalization of the downtown Monroe area continues, we will be revealing exciting details in the new year regarding a new business coming to the Town of Monroe owned DeAngelis Hall building at 15 Lake Street! We extend our gratitude to Town of Monroe Councilman, Sal Scancarello, who continues to play an integral role in bringing new business to our area. Great things are happening in Monroe and we continue to move in a positive direction!
Helping Neighbors In Need


Two Immaculate Heart Academy students are hosting a Holiday Food Drive throughout the month of December to assist those in need in our community. All proceeds will be donated to Our Father’s Kitchen located at 151 Stage Road in Monroe. Drop-off is available at Monroe Town Hall and Sacred Heart Church (vestibule) located at 26 Still Road.

Requested Items Include:

  • Canned Meats
  • Canned fruits and vegetables
  • Canned soups/stews
  • Canned beans
  • Boxed Pasta (preferably whole grain)
  • Rice (preferably brown)
  • Juice Boxes (100% pure juice)
  • Allergy-friendly foods (gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free, etc.)

All donations are welcome!
Important Information Regarding Upcoming 2021 Tax Payments

2021 Town & County Tax Season

The Town of Monroe Tax Collector will be accepting the following payment methods only for the 2021 Orange County Town and County Real Property Tax Bills: personal checks, money orders, or cashier checks. Please note that online payments are subject to a convenience fee that will be applied for the service.

The fees are as follows:
  • Visa, MasterCard and Discover Credit cards: 2.45% percent
  • Visa Debit: $3.95
  • E-Check: $1.75

NO CASH PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Tax Collection Hours: 

Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
For payments received after February 1, 2021, a 1% penalty is added.
For payments received after March 1, 2021, a 2% penalty is added.
Tax payments made after March 31, 2021 must be paid to the Orange County Commissioner of Finance. They can be reached at (845) 291-2480.
