WATKINS GLEN, New York (September 8, 2022) – Hardpoint, Brady Behrman, the No. 428 TradeCentric Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and the International GT Championship are back in action this week at Watkins Glen International. The schedule features two sprint races on Friday, September 9, and a 60 minute Enduro on Saturday, September 10. Coby Shield will once again co-drive with Behrman in the Enduro, where the pair will start from the class pole following Thursday's qualifying session.

All three races can be seen live on the International GT YouTube channel by clicking here.

Hardpoint Pre-Race News and Notes

  • This is Behrman’s second International GT weekend with Hardpoint, and third overall this season. The campaign to date has been a successful one, with five podium finishes in the six races.

  • Behrman scored a trio of podiums at Mid-Ohio with Hardpoint, an impressive feat at his first visit to a difficult race track and amid stout competition. Behrman scored a runner-up finish and a third-place finish in the 15-minute sprint races, and added a third-place finish in the 60-minute enduro.

  • Thursday’s first qualifying session came in damp conditions following a week of rain in the Finger Lakes Region. Behrman was the top qualifier in the GT3.8 class, fourth overall, running on slicks in the damp track with a time of 2:09.385. That placed him 2.767 seconds ahead of his closest class competitors.

  • Thursday afternoon’s session had better conditions, and Behrman adapted well again with a best lap of 1:55.692. That was best in class once again, and fifth overall on the grid.

  • IGT’s qualifying rules state that the best of the two qualifying sessions will be where a driver starts Race 1 and the Enduro. With drying conditions, nearly the entire field set their best lap in qualifying two.

  • The pole position will be of value in the 15-minute sprint races on Saturday. Though Watkins Glen has a handful of passing opportunities, starting at the front of the class battle is advantageous in such a short race.
  • Teammate Shield will jump into the car for the endurance race, where a second driver can be a part of the action.

  • Friday’s sprint races will begin at 10:55 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. at Watkins Glen. The International GT enduro gets the feature nod on a weekend that also features the Trans Am Championship and Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) classes. That comes complete with a fan walk and pre-race ceremonies on the grid prior to the 1:10 p.m. EDT start.

  • Behrman’s on-track success puts TradeCentric in the spotlight in the IGT paddock. Uniquely positioned at the intersection of eCommerce and eProcurement, TradeCentric helps B2B buyers and suppliers connect, automate and scale their digital trading capabilities, including with a cloud-based integration platform that is fully managed and purpose-built to simplify the complexities of B2B trade and transaction processes. Brady Behrman, Driver, No. 428 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup: “This place is absolutely amazing. Watkins Glen really favors our driving style, both Coby and I. It’s fast, fun and lots of great camber and areas to make some strategic passes. We’re feeling very optimistic this weekend. It’s our second day here, and we got to go play around in the rain on our wets. The Hardpoint team is working really hard to make sure everything is just perfect, and it has been. We were up to speed quickly and running up front with all the top dogs. I’m optimistic for this weekend and looking forward to the races after a strong qualifying. It looks like it will be dry, so we’re going to go out and work hard and bring back the trophies. Thanks to Hardpoint and TradeCentric for helping us do what we want to do.”

Coby Shield, Driver, No. 428 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup: "I love Watkins Glen. It's absolutely beautiful here. I don't have a lot of experience here, but I have a lot of time watching video and on the simulator here. I'm just excited to bring what I can for Brady, and excited to watch him continue to move forward and succeed. It's an absolute blast seeing how far he's come in three events. We want to set the bar higher this weekend, the problem is that he always puts it on the podium. So we want to now try to win as many races as we can. His confidence in the car has gone through the roof, as we saw in qualifying, so I'm looking forward to sharing the car with him on Saturday."
