Dear saints,

On this very last day of a year that for many reasons we might be glad is coming to an end, I wonder what you look back on in 2021. No doubt we have all been riding a Covid rollercoaster from the winter’s surge, to the summer lull, and back again as we close the year. Yet in the midst of all that headline news have been the small acts of kindness and generosity that remind us that the quality of human goodness endures all things. May I invite you to end this year today taking up the practice of gratitude? Perhaps you might find a quiet moment to reflect and name before God that for which your heart is glad and your spirit is thankful. It’s what our forebears might have called counting your blessings. Time will turn, a new year will begin and in the dark of night the light will usher in the morning. Grace and peace to you all as we turn the page together.

New Year’s blessings,

Make a Gift to Emmanuel Bwatta as He Becomes Bishop of the Diocese of Western Tanganyika

It is with great celebration that we share the news that Emmanuel Bwatta, Dean of Lake Tanganyika Theological College—our partner in Tanzania—has been elected Bishop of the Diocese of Western Tanganyika.

You are invited to give a gift to help him purchase vestments and meet other expenses as he prepares to be consecrated at the end of January. You are welcome to make a donation online or via check (noting that it's for Emmanuel Bwatta in the memo line).

Share a Meal with the Men of Covenant Community

To celebrate the holiday season, please consider bringing dinner to the men of Covenant Community on a Monday night. Meals can either be shared with the men inside the residence or they can be dropped off during the day. Available dates are: January 3 and 17. Thank you.

Donate Children's Clothing, Books, Socks, and Shoes to Threads

We invite donations of new or gently used children’s clothing; a donation barrel is located in the upper level of the parking garage behind the security booth.

Current needs: long-sleeved tops for boys and girls (sizes 5 through 16), child-sized house slippers, and warm baby blankets. We're also looking for a smallish baby changing table in good condition.
