WHAT A DIFFERENCE A MONTH MAKES!

What a difference a month makes! November’s snowstorm was merely a hint of winter to come... then the weather gods tempted us w/ glorious, belated Autumn days. This past weekend’s storm was seriously WINTER! Get out the mittens and snow shovels, it’s December in New England… and hopefully this portends a “White Christmas”!

GUESS WHO'S COMING TO TOWN?

Rumor has it that the ‘jolly old elf’ will also be making stops all around the Sunapee/Kearsarge area at other times.

“Letters to Santa”

There’s still time to mail those letters to Santa.

Letters must be received by December 11th. Please make sure child's name and mailing address are included and legible. Drop off locations are at the Sunapee Safety Service building and Prospect Hill Antiques in Sunapee Harbor.

Beware some recent internet scams! Xfinity is not changing your email service! Social Security, Credit Card Companies & Banks never ask you to “validate” your information via email! DO NOT CLICK on these fraudulent email links!

One change Comcast Xfinity is planning to make, is to remove WMUR from Sullivan County and switch our ‘local’ channel to the Burlington VT station on December 22nd. Local NH news, including school sports & local events would cease. Or… you could install an antenna on your home to receive WMUR. If this is of concern, suggest contacting your state representatives, US Senators & Representatives, or contact Comcast Xfinity directly to join others and voice those concerns.

The Winter edition of KEARSARGE MAGAZINE features “115 Reasons We Love this Area of New Hampshire”, featuring spectacular photos of the places, people, and events much loved and familiar to townsfolk and visitors in the Sunapee/Kearsarge area. Pages 42 & 43 feature Jim Block’s photo, taken on a misty Autumn morning, with a view of The Livery, overlooking the Covered Bridge which spans the Sugar River. Project Sunapee (builders of the Sugar River Covered Bridge) and the Sunapee Heritage Alliance (currently restoring this 1890 Landmark as a vital community resource) were happily surprised and honored to be the “centerfold”!
