This Summer: Feed Families, Fuel Change

Summer means increased demand for food for families who normally rely on free school meals for their school-age children. At JFS Kosher Food Pantries, we provide nutritious food to help ease the burden on families struggling to stretch their food budgets with more meals needed during the summer months.

For Mrs. A, who currently cares for her daughter and her grandchildren, the struggle to buy enough food for the household is felt every day, but more so during the summer months. "I appreciate the food here because every little bit helps my family. I never thought I would need this type of help but I come here for my grandchildren. I want to make sure they're okay....I appreciate JFS because everyone is friendly and I don't feel judged for not being able to feed my own."

Our Kosher Food Pantries help fill the gaps during times of food insecurity for all Middlesex County residents regardless of background. You can help us fuel change by joining us in fundraising or donating non-perishable food items such as canned vegetables, fruits, proteins, grains, pasta, rice, and breakfast cereals. Your generosity directly impacts the lives of struggling families, ensuring they have access to nutritious meals. For more information, click here

Please drop off nonperishable items at our North Brunswick Pantry located at 219C Blackhorse Lane, between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday through Thursday, or contact us to arrange a special drop-off. If you have any questions, reach out to our team at office@jfsmiddlesex.org or 732-777-1940. To make a donation online, visit our website.

Together, we can help ease food insecurity in our community. Thank you for help and support, we are truly grateful.

Medicare Fraud Prevention Week

June 5 to 11 is Medicare Fraud Prevention Week - a week-long campaign focused on the actions everyone can take to prevent Medicare fraud, errors, and abuse. JFS is the designated agency for New Jersey’s Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP), a national program that educates Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries about preventing, detecting and reporting health care fraud.

Preventing Medicare fraud requires a concerted effort from beneficiaries, their families and caregivers, medical team, and community.

If you or someone you know suspect Medicare fraud or abuse, contact 732-777-1940 to speak with an SMP counselor. Visit: https://jfsmiddlesex.org/senior-services/ for more information on JFS’ SMP NJ program.
