Hello Knightdale! This truly is the most wonderful time of the year. I don't say that because of gifts or material things; I love seeing your smiling faces at community events, and I can feel your benevolent spirits as I see you shopping around town. Knightdale truly is a joy-filled town, and I enjoy experiencing that as your mayor!

I'm so excited about the many positive things going on around town, and I wanted to share just a few things going on with our citizens and community.

Eastern Wake Local Government Association Holds Second Quarterly Meeting

The Town of Knightdale convened with Zebulon, Rolesville and Wendell for our second quarterly Eastern Wake Local Government Association meeting. It was a great time and opportunity for all of the towns to discuss current issues we’re facing, as well as share ideas for solutions and progress reports on town happenings.

Special thanks to Councilor Latatious Morris for organizing the towns and being an amazing visionary for this group. Thanks also to my fellow mayors who continue to see the value in our towns coming together: Ronnie Currin (Rolesville); Virginia Gray (Wendell); and Glenn York (Zebulon). We in Knightdale appreciate you all! 

Knightdale Honors Barbara Poole

At our most recent council meeting, the Town recognized Barbara Poole, the Founder and Funeral Director of Poole Funeral Home and Crematory, for her dedicated service to Knightdale and the Knightdale Veteran Memorial for over 40 years. We are very grateful for her decades of support to our community of families and veterans. You are appreciated, Barbara!

Visit the Girls Scouts

Councilor Morris and I recently had the GREAT privilege of speaking to the Girl Scout Troops 4281 and 14281! These young ladies were learning about local, state and national government, and they invited us to speak about our wonderful town of Knightdale!

The ladies were extremely attentive, and I could tell I was among some potential Knightdale leaders! Thank you to Michelle Watkins and Crystal Hyman for inviting us to share our insights about local government with the troops!

The Wake Forest Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated, recently recognized me as their Silver Legacy of Excellence Awards recipient! Serving the people of Knightdale is and has always been a civic responsibility that I chose to make things better in my hometown. I’m sincerely grateful to have been honored with such a prestigious award. Thank you so much!

Mayor Day Recognizes Eta Phi Beta 50th Anniversary

Eta Phi Beta, Incorporated, is a non-profit business and professional women’s organization that was founded in 1942 in Detroit, Michigan. The organization’s Mid-Eastern Region, known as the Love Region, was chartered in 1972 and recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. To commemorate this special occasion, I presented a proclamation recognizing November 20, 2022, as Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated - Mid-Eastern Region Day!
