Matu Taylor, Guest Speaker

Matumaini “Matu” Taylor is a thoughtful and innovative leader who truly has a heart to serve while successfully maintaining an inclusive and results-driven environment that has an emphasis on youth empowerment and community collaboration. 

Currently, Matu Taylor is the Executive Director of Stars a Nonprofit organization that emboldens young people to pursue a life of purpose and service. 

Pastor Matu recently served as the Pastor/Director of High School and College Age Ministries at Faithful Central Bible Church (FCBC), from 2016-2023. Before this, she was a bi-vocational youth minister at Judson Baptist Church for seven years, while working full-time for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. She was also a city coordinator for DVULI. In the past 25 years, she has served on various councils, committees, and boards in Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. She has developed curricula and implemented strategies that have enhanced the youth programs and projects of community-based organizations, churches, and government entities. Matu has degrees from Morris Brown College (B.A.) and The King’s University (M.Div.). She also has a Certificate of Youth Ministry from Fuller Seminary. She is an ordained pastor, trainer, nonprofit founder, and author. You can follow Matu on Instagram @matubelieves.
